AZ, MI, CA, OR, SC, IL, AR, TX: 8. That doesn't count short-term visits to AL, MS, and NY for USAF schools. While serving in USAF I also have lived in Canada, Iran, and Germany.

FWIW, in my travels I have visited all 50 states, all provinces of Canada except the 2 northernmost, most of Europe, some of the Caribbean and Mexico, Turkey, and China.

IL, WI, AR, RI, MN, FL, MS, VA, TX = 9. Some I have lived in more than once.
Other posters have already mentioned the states of Chaos and Confusion, or they'd be first on my list.

I’ve lived in 6 states and one Canadian province.

To be fair, I’ve lived in 3 geographic regions within Texas which is equivalent to living in Maine; Massachusetts; and Ottawa, Can-eh-duh
