Anti-Gun Brady PAC Sets Its Sights on Texas with Huge Dem Spending Spree
Apr 09, 2020

By: Ashleigh Meyer

Brady PAC, the gun control group claiming to be one of America’s “oldest and boldest,” has set its sights on Texas as the next frontier for so-called “assault weapons” bans, universal background checks, red flag laws, and all the other anti-gun measures that have our founding fathers rolling in their graves.

Their goal is to flip the state’s legislatures from red to blue by winning a few strategic seats for the left, a feat that would be quite impressive, considering Republicans have controlled the House, the Senate, and the governor’s seat since 2003. It would also be a very expensive mission, but the Brady PAC plans to dump more than half-a-million dollars into Democratic candidates in the state. That’s more money going to Texas than any other state in the country.

Texas, through traditionally conservative and gun-loving, is seen as a battleground for the 2020 elections. And Brady isn’t the only gun lobby spending a chunk in the Lone Star State. Everytown for Gun Safety, backed by anti-gun heavyweight Mike Bloomberg, also plans to spend millions.

The frightening thing is that it has already worked once.

Brady was one of many gun control lobby groups to claim victory after the sweeping win by Democrats in Virginia in 2019. Their unprecedented spending forced gun policy to the top of the issues list and successfully brought out the typically unmotivated liberal voters in droves. Virginia, for the first time in decades, became an all-blue state. And now Brady PAC plans to employ the same high-dollar grassroots method in Texas.

It may not be that easy, however. Not only would Democrats have to hold onto the 12 seats they snagged in the last election, they would also need to win 9 more to take control of the House. After watching in horror as the blue wave swept Virginia, many gun rights groups and conservative voters are taking this most recent threat much more seriously. Groups like Gun Owners of America and many others are calling for action and beating their own spending records to rally folks behind their Second Amendment freedoms. Grassroots resistance against unconstitutional gun laws are popping up all across America.

In Texas, a state known for its gun-slinging, freedom-loving heritage, Brady and their Democratic candidates have their work cut out for them.

The gun grabbers are definitely making inroads there. Cruz's margin of victory over Robert Francis was a lot smaller than I'd like to have seen.

All they have to do is wait. There's enough of an influx of leftists from high tax states to push it blue eventually.

Same thing happened here in Virginia. Excellent tax policy and business climate attracted leftists from Maryland, Jersey and New York to move down.

Of course the first thing they all want to do is implement all of the policies that made their states unlievable.

Virginia, North carolina, colorado, Nevada, texas, tennesee, arizona, idaho etc are all in the crosshairs.

Democrats are a true cancer and destroy everything and anything they touch. I swear; democrats are going to cause another much needed civil war. Personally, if I know someone is a democrat, I will not socialize, talk or be in any contact with them. I have really come to despise all democrats and what they stand for!
PS: If any of you closet democrats are offended, I don't give a crap, you are the problem and should be ashamed and embarrassed with yourselves.

Don't forget San Antonio in that list; it once was only slightly left leaning, not anymore.

Sadly I see Fort Worth headed the same direction before long.

Greg Abbott's approval rating is well over 60% and he embodies everything the left despises. I think of this as a pretty good barometer of how the vote will go come Nov. It is sad to see our major metro areas creeping left, but I guess a lot of that has to do with the influx of people coming from the far left states like California. My gut feel is Trump and the Republicans will carry Texas, but it will be close and will take a good turn-out. This vote by mail and other vote cheating programs Pelosi and crew are tossing around will make this even closer.

One would hope the huge national surge in first time gun buyers over the past couple weeks might, just *might* get a few folks to reconsider. It'll certainly make for a good argument for the campaign.

Anyone else notice that the Dem Presidential candidates tended to wash out by who was MOST anti gun.

Beto - Harris -- Booker etc. Biden and Bernie were the least anti-gun candidates. (As a Sen Sanders for a D from the NRA).

Yeah, I lived under a Dem Governor (Ann Richards) and it was awful. Other states where allowing concealed carry but it couldn't get out of the state senate, and if it had, Richards would veto before it even settled on her desk. Thank God GWB beat her ass and put Texas on the right track. I don't want to go back to that foolishness.

Like in most other states our largest cities are controlled by progressive idiots and the push for gun control will never end. With the daily invasions of Californians, Yankees and the worlds population I dont know how long we can hold out. I'm afraid that one day we'll just be overwhelmed by sheer numbers.

The thing to keep in mind is that while the anti-2A crowd has certainly targeted Texas...it's not just a 2A issue...this is part of a Leftist political strategy and Texas is poised as the next domino to fall.

There was a forum post a few years ago with a story of a Republican Texas lawmaker who laid out the Texas Congressional Districts that have seen progressively fewer Republican votes and Increasingly Democrat votes, through several election cycles, and the Democrat Party was spending relatively little money in these districts to gain these votes...and he laid out a projected timeline for these CDs to turn Blue, in the next 2 to 4 elections cycles, which would lead to a Democrat majority and control of the state, with Texas becoming a Blue state.

I've posted repeatedly about Rocky Mountain Heist: The Colorado Model- and why other states should be concered, and how this strategy was so successful in quietly turning Colorado from a mostly Red to Blue state in such a short time that the Democrat Party exported this same strategy to other states... including Virginia and Texas.

The only people that should be surprised that Texas is, and has been, in the Democrat cross-hairs are the ones not paying attention.

Kristin Tate is the author of The Liberal Invasion of Red State America

Amazon description of her book:

Refugees from high-tax Massachusetts turned New Hampshire blue. Democratic voters from Yankee states are swamping Tennessee and Georgia. Government employees and refugees from Maryland have turned Virginia from a conservative Southern state into left-leaning Democrat territory. Escapees from California have transformed Colorado, and they’re aiming for Texas next.

One state after another is turning from red to purple to blue. America is being radically changes by people leaving blue states for better living conditions and opportunities in red states—only to import to their new homes the very policies that created the misery they fled from in the first place.

The direction of the change is undeniable:

• A 2019 poll found that 53 percent of residents are considering leaving California on account of the exorbitant cost of living

• From 2008-2018, Houston's population surged more than 15 percent, and the top metro areas of origin for those new Texas residents were Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago

• Migration from blue states is changing the Texas electorate: between 2010 and 2018, votes for Democrats went up 50 percent, while Republican votes increased by just 10 percent

• Boom is turning to bust in cities like Denver, as hip blue state refugees to red states raise the cost of living by voting in liberal policies

The liberal invasion of the conservative states is having major impacts on our elections, our economy, and our standard of living. And yet few Americans are even aware of the trend, and fewer still have any idea of the significant implications for the future of the United States.

Now, in The Liberal Invasion of Red State America, indefatigable reporter Kristin Tate delves into the data, lays out the astonishing statistics, and explores the likely consequences of this under-the-radar trend. If you want to understand the movement that is reshaping our country, read this groundbreaking book.

The Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) if very vocal in the state, but even with that it's troubling.

As noted the influx of folks from CA, NY, and the like has brought with it all the inevitable "ideas" that created the conditions that these folks fled in the first place. It boggles the mind that seemingly intelligent people cannot see the correlation between the failed policies of the state(s) they left and the resulting conditions they created. They're happy to try to institute these same policies in the state they escaped to with the same predictable results. I hope and pray that we can stave off the transformation for as long as possible, but I believe the inevitable shift is just that. Very sad...

I worry for my kids as Texas will not be the same state that I grew up in soon. I honestly don't know what the answer is.
