I think it was Spray and Forget that I used, it didn’t get it clean enough for my liking. I end up with mildew and green stuff on my Hardy Siding that needs addressed every couple of years. I always go back to a mixture of Jomax and bleach with the pressure washer to get it off.

Maybe someone here will have a better solution.

No product I've tried works without some washing with a sponge, brush, etc.
I've used Krud Kutter the last few years.

It's easy and worked for me on vinyl siding. I used Mold Armour. Spray it on, wait a few minutes, rinse it off.

You connect it to your garden hose, so water pressure is key to getting it where you want. The chemical bottle boosts the pressure somewhat.

If you have a 1 story no problem. If 2-story you will need to get on a ladder to reach the higher surfaces.

It’s called Wet N Forget.

It works well if you give it some time to react, which could be several weeks. We use it on a decks and siding and usually apply it 2 or 3 times a year..

Used mold Armour as well. Wet shrubs first and also rinse off after done with the area. It does improve mold, dirt, n grime aspect. Either repeat process for better results or hand wash for better finish. Windows and screens were better too. It is easy, not perfect.

EDIT Alum gutters and flashing d8d not clean up without hand washing.

This is my experience as well. I rented a pressure washer from Home Depot a few weeks ago for $100. It was money well spent.

This is the combination I used and it worked great. I could have rinsed the crap off the house with a garden hose it worked so well.

10% bleach and laundry detergent

2 cups bleach (I used liquid pool shock from Wal Mart)
2 tablespoons laundry detergent (surfactant to keep the mixture in contact with the siding longer)
1 gallon water

I sprayed it on with a 2 gallon pump sprayer.

I used Wet and Forget on my moldy fence in 2019. The fence was really bad with green stuff. It took several weeks to get it off the fence, but it has not come back. It was expensive, probably close to a hundred bucks for the length of fence I had to do, but it sure saved work down the road.

30 Second Cleaner is what I use on my white vinyl fence. Spray on and rinse off with a hose. It works as advertized.

I I’ve used Wet and Forget and Spray and Walk Away. Both work fairly well at cleaning. Both do a good job at prevention. With twice year, easy to do use, I think I can put off the pressure washer for two years or maybe not at all in vertical places.

Wet and Forget worked very well on my aluminum siding. Spray it on with a pump sprayer, evenly wet.
Within two weeks looks like new. Works on many other surfaces. Haven't used my pressure washer in 15 years.

I use this stuff.
You need a pump garden sprayer, a gallon of bleach and this stuff, M1 Housewash. You get it at Home Depot.

https://www.homedepot.com/pep/...W7RIMvhoCJcMQAvD_BwE

Spray it on and let it sit for about 10 minutes, then hose it off.

They make a similar version for concrete walks and driveways but to do a really good job there you need a pressure washer. Also use it for the decks.

Some people use Simple Green and bleach or some other home brew version.
As cheap as this stuff is, I don't care to experiment.

Wet and forget works, but if it’s dirty you will need to give it a couple goes.

There are some similar brands that say not to spray windows, as it can scratch glass, so read the directions and uses for any other brand

Yes there are multiple ways, but they all combine an oxidizing agent combined with a sufactant, a very short dwell time, and a fresh water rinse, since you don't want the caustic agent to dry or remain on your surface.

Nobody pressure washes any more (in the literal sense) but pressure washers are used with a special tip to reach up to three stories or so with a 3500 psi pressure washer with a wand and tip, which are not expensive.

If you only have one story and not to much square footage, I used to use Jomax with Bleach via the label directions. The dirt and black mold and green algae melt off during the rinse cycle. Easy peasy.

If you have plants or bushes you value, you can cover them up if there's not too much of them, but the pros simply spray the plants and oramental trees and bushes with water, then wash the house, then rinse the plants again, to prevent them from getting burned.

So for a small easy job, Jomax/Bleach with a tank pump sprayer to the first story gutter, otherwise you'll a tall ladder or better a pressure washer with the extra attachments, a five gallon bucket, and two to four gallons of "Brown Stuff" and 10% Sodium Hypochlorite (I tbink).

These people will set you up with everything you need with equp, chems, and instructions. If you already have a gas pressure washer go visit these guys or the equivalent company near you:

Wet-N-Forget is good for small jobs like outdoor furniture, decks and railing, and small sections of fence, but not for whole house washing, way too expensive otherwise. But it works great, but you don't rinse it off like the house washing chemicals.

There really is no need to buy anything but household bleach. The north side of our house is about 30 feet up so I use my 20 gallon battery powered sprayer. I haul it around in a lawn cart.

The ratio I have found that works the best is one part bleach to four parts water. So I mix up a gallon of bleach and four gallons of water. Spray it on, let it sit for 10 minutes and then simply rinse it off. I use a garden hose with a jet nozzle for that. Works very well. We have Hardy Plank siding.

I just bought some Mold Armor at Lowe’s yesterday, maybe try it later today. I did also got some ‘pool bleach’ with the 10% active ingredient to mix with water at 50% to supplement when the mold armor is out.

I’m not looking for perfection, or the perfect cleaning job. It’s just on the north side. I want easy, settle for the 90% level of improvement.
