striker1Similar to what my older son and I did over Christmas. His is the clear case. Only a couple of games for now since we haven’t found cartridges for the ones he wants to download.

I *can* download them. All of them. Might be the same resource. In fact, we did dl a couple of game ROMs we currently own and used the web interface to drag and drop.
I don’t want my son thinking it’s okay to do it without ownership, though.

Looking for an affordable portable for my 9yr-old.

They're not inexpensive to buy completed.
But not expensive for all the components.
