Similar to what my older son and I did over Christmas. His is the clear case. Only a couple of games for now since we haven’t found cartridges for the ones he wants to download.

I *can* download them. All of them. Might be the same resource. In fact, we did dl a couple of game ROMs we currently own and used the web interface to drag and drop.

I don’t want my son thinking it’s okay to do it without ownership, though.

You modify an old Game Boy Color or Advance.
They're not inexpensive to buy completed.
But not expensive for all the components.
