"We" aren't funding their behavior, the taxpayers of California are. Federal dollars go to research projects on campuses that are only administratively, at best, connected to the people who made those decisions. Cutting that funding will either mean nothing to them, or give them the chance to claim they've cleaned "war dollars" (yes, that's where a lot of that research goes) out of the university. So what funding can we actually cut that will actually change the way those yoyos behave?

Like I said, ALL of it. Anything happening at LLNL OR LANL that need be saved can have the funding run via ANL, INEL, or PNL. The work itself can stay at LLNL and LANL. Anything else, the faculty involved can move, either to another university or the private sector. And UCB is the start. The rest of the UC system is just as corrupt. That's why I asked what funding we, as opposed to California politicians, can cut? Neither you nor I nor the Feds actually control funding for the "anything else" you referred to - and that's precisely where the idiots in the university administration draw their paychecks from. They get to be freaks because they're paid by freaks who get the money to cover those paychecks by taxing freaks.

True, we cannot stop Californis from spending California tax revenue on whatever they choose. It is a free state in that regard. But we can, and should cease giving them funds from the federal tax revenue to run their indoctrination centers. They proved they do not believe in the First Amendment, at least as far as conservative voices go. People should be glad I'm not President. Congress may appropriate funds, but the Executive spends them. What would happen if the President said "All funds appropriated for expenditure in the state of California over $1M shall only be obligated with the express written approval of the President." I haven't refused to do it, I have only turned the spigot way down. Interesting conundrum. Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." A part of what makes this both sad and ironic is the UC Berkeley was the home of the free speech movement back in the 60's.
