Surprised they haven't started a multi million dollar campaign to educate sea life to NOT eat plastic.

The insanity amongst the Lib's REALLY is strong.

Why not pass a law making it illegal for sea life to eat plastic? $250 fine for eating a straw.

They might as well. Their liberal cohorts to the south have established that impossibility to comply with a law is not a barrier for the legislature.

Loony Tune Cali Supremes rule that the legislature can pass laws that are impossible to comply with

It was hardly the last straw, but stuff like this is why my wife and I have recently decided to punch out. We're done here. Headed back to the South, where we belong. Ya'll can have your junkies and your hijab-wearing communities that shoot off fireworks on the 9/11 anniversaries, and your daycare workers that tell toddlers they can grow up to be a boy or a girl, a $15 minimum wage, all while the county seat worries about how to ban sugary drinks, and straws, and all the rest of that stupid shit. That's not even touching on the constant attempts at mimicking California's gun laws or outdoing them. Nah, we're good. We're done.

The kids will love this. I can't wait to see how they drink their juice boxes. Maybe provide all six year olds with pocket knives so they can shotgun their juice boxes.

Just like the Carbon Tax the left wanted a few years ago,it will do nothing to solve the real problem.

Shocking study reveals 90% of global plastic waste comes from just TEN rivers in Asia and Africa

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/new...ers-Asia-Africa.html

A shocking study has revealed 90 per cent of the world's plastic waste comes from just 10 rivers in Asia and Africa.

As governments around the world rush to address the global problem of plastic pollution in the oceans, researchers have now pinpointed the river systems that carry the majority of it out to sea.

About five trillion pounds is floating in the sea, and targeting the major sources - such as the Yangtze and the Ganges - could almost halve it, scientists claim.

Carried out by Germany's Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research, it suggests that the most effective way of reducing the amount of plastic in the world's oceans is by addressing the sources of pollution along such waterways as these.

The researchers, who first released their paper in 2017, issued a chilling warning for the future.

'One thing is certain: this situation cannot continue,' says Dr. Christian Schmidt, a hydrogeologist at the Germany's Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research

'But as it is impossible to clean up the plastic debris that is already in the oceans, we must take precautions and reduce the input of plastic quickly and efficiently.'

His team analysed data on debris from 79 sampling sites along 57 rivers - both microplastic particles measuring less than 5 mm and macroplastic above this size.

China's Yangtze River was the worst polluter, and ferries some 1.5 million tonnes of plastic into the Yellow Sea every year, the study found.

THE 10 MOST POLLUTING RIVERS

Yangtze East China Sea Asia

Indus Arabian Sea Asia

Yellow River Yellow Sea Asia

Hai He Yellow Sea Asia

Nile Mediterranean Africa

Ganges Bay of Bengal Asia

Pearl River South China Sea Asia

Amur Sea of Okhotsk Asia

Niger Gulf of Guinea Africa

Mekong South China Sea Asia

I honestly don't use a straw most of the time; however, I see this as totally killing the milkshake and float industry in Seattle. I don't see how you can enjoy one without using a straw.

I bought some of those but the inner diameter was too small, Instead I found some larger diameter color anodized ones that I use. One in my 40 oz Rtic tumbler for work and another in my home drinking cup.

Proof once again that no amount of government is "Too Goddamned Much Government" for the Democrats (C).

This is, at best, just virtue signaling on the part of the over-empowered asses that have imposed the law/regulation. It will achieve NOTHING other than inconveniencing honest hard-working people.

Thanks,

Straws out. Needles (laying around everywhere) are okay. I think needles are handed out free as part of the City Of Seattle Homeless Welcome Wagon Kit.
