There are two reasons for limiting pain meds. No doctor wants the DEA to show up at the office and cart your computer records away. Sometimes they call the TV station as well. The other is to prevent opiate addiction which is beyond ugly.

Two and a half weeks post-op today and progressing well. PT today measured my range of motion as 1 to 116 degrees in the new right knee and -2 to 132 degrees in my original equipment left knee. She believes I should have no problem getting to 125+ degrees eventually. My pre-op ROM in the old knee was 0-125 degrees in March of 2023. Doc did not remeasure prior to surgery so I don’t know (but suspect) it worsened a little bit over the past year. Expecting it to be as good or better without the joint pain once recovery is complete.

Need to work on my quads to increase stability but progressing well and well ahead of schedule according to the therapist. She even thinks I will regain the ability to jump (if my left knee can take it)

Did a full 30 minutes on the NordicTrack (albeit only about 60% of my usual resistance) and it felt good. My goal is (weather permitting) to do 23 miles on the real bike April 1st

Steri-strips came off today as well, Doc did a great job putting it back together, shouldn’t be much scar at all.

No, he says that it is minimally invasive. Do they cut tendons with normal replacement? I didn't think they did.

No, they do not cut tendons with traditional methods.

Ligaments maybe? I thought there was something they don’t cut with the robot assist that they do without, I could certainly be wrong though.
