I read somewhere and maybe even here that Beto is a professional campaigner. It doesn't matter that he expects to lose as long as he gets money coming into his campaign.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I see Abbot's running again. Any reason he won't win both the Rep nomination and general?

And has TX gone woke enough that O'Roarke of the like would stand a snowballs chance in hell of winning? Normally I would thing no, but it seems a lot of Californication has been happening.

Yup^^^^^^

Professional campaigner. Pays all his bills, gets some family on salary, etc etc. Whatever campaign money is leftover he still basically can spend. It’s quite a racket.

Ooookay. So who the f*** puts any credence into her views on anything. Texas won't go blue, and we'll not hear a peep out of this idiot when this happens. Lots of California transplants here. Still I'm confident. too many good Texas people will not stand for this shit.

Don Huffines might be a good upgrade. Billboards everywhere stating that he's pro-2A, pro-life and wants to eliminate property taxes. Might be worth a look.

Well, lord knows those billboards the candidates put up never have any misinformation.

He may WANT to eliminate property taxes, but how the hell do you think he could do that without imposing an income tax? Or increasing some other tax or fees?

Beto may have realized he can't get elected in Texas on a gun control platform, but would you trust him on that? I do not.

Abbott wins in a walk-over. Maybe some of them are positioning themselves for the day when Abbott is out.

Yeah, Dildo O'Rourke. Who the fuck does that? Who stands up in front of the entire world and states their position with that much (seeming) conviction, and then turns around and says "Oh, hey, no, we don't want to do that."? I can't lose respect for him because I have no respect for him whatsoever, but, damn, that is truly disgusting behavior. And no one on either side of the political spectrum believes what he is now saying. He has no self-respect, but he will never understand this. He's an empty shell.

Smart money is on Ken Paxton when that day comes. Texas’ AG has done very well for themselves the last 2 decades (Gov Abbott and Sen Cornyn). They get a lot of good publicity and splashy headlines suing the federal gov't when a Demonrat's inevitably do something unconstitutional, joining amicus briefs in SCOTUS, etc.

Need his words played in ads on every station. Always listen to what the candidate said in earlier smaller elections before they got big.

A Senate race against a very hard to like Ted Cruz is one thing. The governors race? Oh please. He stands no chance.

I’m not disparaging Ted Cruz, the reality is that he isn’t well liked. He’s smarter than almost anyone in the room and doesn’t care if that makes you feel bad. Americans don’t vote for policy anymore, it’s personality.

I got a farmer/military/airline pilot buddy. He hates Trump. He hates Biden. He admits he liked most of Trumps policies. When asked would you rather have Trump in office he equivocates. I don’t get it.

Ain't that the truth ^^^

When the "R" race started off I was all in for Ted Cruz for President.
He is a genius no doubt.
Trump was my second choice then.
NOW ... no doubt to me that Trump was the right choice and in all honesty better than Ted for the Executive office.
I still think Ted is great.

I don't know. Myself and a majority of my friends think Curz is solid. I suppose maybe I don't represent the majority, and maybe my views might be anecdotal. Still, without cruz Who is going to hold the lefties feet to the fire the way he does? It would be a loss for the conservatives.

I view Ted Cruz as the Sheldon Cooper of politics. He's very smart and doesn't mind offending people by letting them know why their viewpoint is wrong.
I think he would make an excellent Chief Justice. I wish there was a way to replace John Roberts with Ted Cruz.
