San Diego doesn’t like some Mexican illegal input
“The shoreline of Imperial Beach in San Diego County, California has been closed to swimmers after sewage contamination flowed from Mexico's Tijuana River.

The state of California and its cities sued last year the federal government for the sewage-contamination flows from Mexico. The federal lawsuit contends that federal inaction has led to tens of millions of gallons of "almost continuous" sewage, and seeks to force federal officials to upgrade systems to divert polluted flows.

The defense attorneys said that the government cannot be held responsible for the overflowing, the newspaper reported.”

Shouldn’t sanctuary cities and states welcome all types of illegal immigration? Can’t see why they’d be getting so upset.

Interested as to why they think it is the Feds problem....

Hmm, raw sewage flowing in the rivers- definition of “shit hole” country perhaps?

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

There are several definitions of “shithole”, & Mexico meets every one.

If memory is correct this same thing happened the last time we visited San Diego circa 1995. And it was an ongoing problem before that.

They're actually right about this one. It crosses the border so the feds are the ones in a position to talk the Mexicans into doing something about it. This may also fall under the purview of the IBWC under some treaty provision.

We need some F35 target practice along the border. Oops. Sorry my JDAM flowed across the river amigos.

We could clean that border up real quick.

Well, that's the problem with sewage given rivers and 20th Century plumbing - it's "fire and forget", and the standoff distance can be many, many miles.

They should build a wall out into the ocean to stop the sewage from Mexico from migrating north.

Raw sewage or, just sewage of all types discharging from Mexico, making it's way to the beach of San Diego Co has been an on-going issue for decades. Beach closures due to bacteria and viral issues aren't uncommon.

From two years ago https://www.sandiegouniontribu...-20170427-story.html

...
Imperial Beach, which stretches past the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge to the Mexican border, had portions of its shoreline off-limits to swimmers for more than a third of each year on average, according to county records. The seaside community had a total of nearly 1,600 official beach-closure days in the preceding decade.

...

In fact, more than 80 percent of all the beach-closure days in the county since 2006 have happened between Coronado and the Mexican border, data from the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health shows.

San Diego like San Francisco used to be beautiful cities. They want illegals to feel welcome. This is the crap they left behind catching up to them.

Just one more example of Mexico pooping on us. And the lawsuit against the US Government? Really stupid! Roll Eyes

Perhaps if every type of waste crossing the border was blocked we’d all be better off.
