I just registered a domain for a new business. I used whois.com for the registration.

I'd like to host three to 5 email addresses at that domain, but don't know where to start.

First, how do I go about setting up email addresses through a domain?

Second, can someone recommend an online service or mail app to use on windows desktops and both android and apple phones for mobile use of the email addresses?

Google suite is probably the easiest to use.

You can actually setup your email right through your web hosting service.

After that, you can opt to setup forwarding rules if you like to forward email received on any new email accounts you set up to an existing email account you're currently using (i.e. gmail, etc).

Technically you need to:
1 Register a Domain with Registrar (done)
2 Need DNS service to instruct anyone who needs to find your (domain) services such as a web site or email
3 A host for your services (email server, web server etc).

There are hosts which will provide all three or you can find services a la carte.

Example:
Registrar: Network Solutions
DNS Host: Zoneedit
Email: Microsoft O365
Website: Web.com

Note: Many of these provider will or can provide all of these together but these are technically different functions.
The reason you may want to know is if you need to break out one or the other that suits your needs better.
For example: if your email host has too little space or mail restrictions you may want to change to another provider.

Slack's a thought too. Good call on that. I have used it, I just don't think of it.
