I've had good results using an oxygen deprivation mask.

I've seen Polar mentioned a lot, need to see of they have one compatible with Peloton.

Here ya go: The best heart rate monitors for the Peloton Bike and Tread

The Polar H10 has the advantage that it does ANT+, Bluetooth, and Polar's 5GHz simultaneously, making it compatible with everything.

If you want to save a buck or two, the Polar H9 is about $30 cheaper. Here are the differences: Polar H9 and H10 differences

And here's Polar's page on those two and their wrist HRM: Polar Verity Sense vs. Polar H10 and Polar H9 – Which Heart Rate Sensor Is Right For Me?

Thanks again, the H10 isn't bad, I was expecting north of $100 for a good one.

Peloton & running is my intended primary use.

For running you might want the H10 over the H9 for the Pro strap, though I've seen reports that some people find the little rubber nubs irritating.

When my current Polar HRM kicks the bucket I'll probably get the H9. I don't need the H10's additional capabilities and I don't need the Pro strap. I've never found the cloth strap with my old school Polar HRM inadequate.

Do you use a watch or anything to see your HR from your Polar in real time? Or are the paired exercise devices enough?

I’ve never looked at HR trackers, but now I am lol. I like the Polar 9/10, but I don’t always use machines and would like to know my HR as I go.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

On machines I use the machine's display. That's much easier than a wrist display--particularly on something like a rower, elliptical trainer, or air/assault bike, where your arms are engaged in the exercise.

For off-machine use, or on a machine that doesn't read/display HR, you'll want a compatible wrist display. I haven't looked into or used one of those in quite a few years, as I haven't needed one.

The Polar H10 and H9 will also sync with an iPhone or Apple Watch. (The H10 has on-board storage, so you can share its data with the iPhone or Apple Watch after-the-fact.) Obviously, since I don't yet own either Polar device, I haven't tried this for myself. I don't know what their capabilities may be with Android phones or wearables.

Bump, got the Polar H10 yesterday & tried it out today.
30 min ride on the Peloton & it worked great, checked it against my Citizen CZ watch & they were within 5 bpm of each other.

May try to get a run in with it this weekend, weather depending.

I use a Garmin Fenix 7 and a Peloton. How can I get Vo2 reading with a peloton? I know all the peloton numbers won’t transfer to my workouts after a ride, but I can enter them manually if I know what/where to enter. Too cold to ride outside so now I can only update this area via a brisk walk.

Polar HR users:

My H10 will not connect to my phone [Samsung S23], at all.
Peloton app, Strava, even the Polar Flow app doesn't recognize it.

Has no problem communicating with the Peloton bike, but cannot get it to do anything on my phone.
I can see that it's paired in my BT menu, but the apps don't recognize it.
