Thank you, Para. As you know, this issue was very important to me, and almost led to my leaving SF—but I couldn’t help myself, so I was hanging around again when your post came directed to me.
So thank you very much.

Now I have a question: one could potentially separate the rioting and other behavior from the ideologies behind it, or consider those ideologies (e.g. BLM, Antifa, critical race theory, “White Supremacy”) separately.

It would probably make more sense to combine them , as I see SF together learning more about the ideological background that has led us to this state of insurrection.

I have decided to leave my American flags and flag banners along with a 6ft LED flag up this year after the 4th celebration ended.

I want NO MISTAKE in my Chicago neighborhood where my thoughts and loyalties lay.

I too believe that something momentous is coming.
What it may be I have no idea.
This up coming topic may help bring things into better focus for me.

Unfortunately, it gets crazier with each day that passes.

At least here we can communicate with other individuals who have a handle on reality.

Thank you for doing this... !

You mean you don't trust the local Bay Area news media to be fair, honest, balanced?? Wink

Thanks, Para. I was hoping you would do this.

There's some crazy shit going on and I appreciate the viewpoints and analysis that are found here.

It's one of the very few places left where I feel like sanity, logic and reason still apply.

Read and thanks to para. My wife works every other week in the SF Bay Area, and my son is moving to Seattle for a job. I can't stand to watch the news, but I have a NEED to know what is going on in those cities from a trustworthy source.

So Thank You, once again.

Thank you for opening the topic for discussion.

I live a sheltered life here in Florida, and am partially disabled. At my age (78), I avoid crowds and risk. I hope that Forum Members that live in the riot infected cities can give a better perspective than MSM news.

That’s what I was thinking, the more work part. Mostly with boundary testing despite the boss having laid it out so clearly. Good of him to open it up for us.

Thank you. Like others, this is where I get much of my news. Tv, radio, print, I pretty much gloss by, but I stop and read it here, in part because there are opinions here of longtime members that I want to read. It can give me a new perspective, or reinforces my own.
I appreciate being able to learn from all of them.
