It's the day before Thanksgiving which means it "HOUSE CLEANING DAY" so that tomorrow we can pretend that we live like this all the time. When, in fact, no one lives like this all the time. King Charles doesn't live in a castle this clean.

Now, to the point. Cleaning day also is Rock and Roll day, and it occurs to me as I listen, that songs written by the bass player actually have a decent bass line. (Who'd have thought, eh?) Hat tip to Rush.

In this case, however, I'm listening to "Too Late the Hero" by John Entwistle of The WHO. (Is there a more English name than "Entwistle"?) And leave you with "Sleeping Man".

Any suggestions for songs written by the bass player will be gratefully enjoyed.

Thank you.

"I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation."

Alfred Hornik, Sunday, December 2, 1945 to his family, on his continuing duty to others for surviving WW II.

Jack Blades played bass and fronted and wrote for Night Ranger and Damn Yankees (Tommy Shaw had a hand in the latter as well).

And… you know… there’s Sting.

Paul McCartney.

Anything Les Claypool. Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy. Indeed, bassists are represented well.

A lot, if not most of Steely Dan tracks were either written or co written by Walter Becker. He performed most of the Bass work on early albums.

Entwistle was the first name that came to my mind; Jack Bruce, the second.

Funny you would mention old Thunderfingers; first song that came to my mind was this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWwU-KS76xg
(My Wife)

The second was Jack Bruce, and Theme For An Imaginary Western, here courtesy of Mountain, my favorite rendition:

And now that you have me thinking, there are way too many to mention/post, so I'll let it go with these.
