Yes, they had a fire and had been closed for a few months. I got a chocolate chess.

The famous fruit cake place in Texas is Collin Street Bakery which is about an hour from Dallas on the freeway between Dallas and Houston. According to their FB page, all 4 of their stores have been open since May 4th.

I get my wife a Collins Street Bakery fruitcake for Christmas every year, as do each of my children. It's the best ever!

My wife stopped buying fruitcakes for me a few years ago. I guess she got tired of hearing me exclaim "BEST SURVIVAL FOOD EVAR!!" when I opened the package.

But, the stuff is shelf-stable and calorie-dense, so, I did have a point.

Johnny Carson had a theory that there was really only one fruitcake in the entire world, and people just kept re-gifting the thing, passing it around endlessly.

I do miss Crave Pie. I have not found anything comparable to it in the Dallas area.

This has to be momentous news. Roadkingd28 has been a member since 2009 and this is only his 21st post. Wow!

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

In my travels around the country THIS place was one of my favorites: https://gtpie.com/
The Grand Traverse Pie Company. Although I recall it was the Evansville IN location, that I was turned onto them at.
I'll let the Michigan people tell me if there is better that I never knew of.
