I always run a stolen gun check on any rifle I bring in. I logged into the FICS system this morning and after submitting a stolen gun check, I normally see that I'm maybe 5th in line for review by an "operator." Until today the most I'd seen was maybe 10th or 15th in line.

This morning, I was at number 990! They've been processing for an hour now and I'm 960 out of 969!

Tony.

Wait until they keep trying to ‘defund the police’. What was that movie, ‘Mad Max’ or ‘Book of Eli’? Here we come.

yep,

we joke at work (I sell firearms) that the toilet paper hoarders need to buy a home defense shotgun or anything handgun wise they can find ammo for (at a price point generally under $500) to defend the supply,

How are you doing stolen gun checks in NICS? I’ve never seen that capability in the LEEP portal.

Sorry, I should say FICS. It's through a portal in the Oregon State Police website.

But hey, I'm number 790 out of 990 now!

Another indication things are running at a record pace. I opted to put two pre-owned firearms up for sale locally at brand new retail pricing. Didn't really care if I sold them or not if people weren't willing to pay the asking price. Both sold in one day, after which I've had no less than thirty or forty additional email offers to buy them. After I emailed a couple folks back that they'd sold, I got replies back asking if I had any other firearms I'd be interested in selling. No question, people are freaked out and planning for the worst right now.

I guess people ain’t as skeert in the mountains.
I put several guns on consignment a couple of months ago, and the 9mm P239 and P220 are still languishing there. The 220 is a DAK SAS Carry, so I didn’t expect it to move quickly but I’m surprised about the 239.

I also need to go to another store a couple of hours away to pick up a special order, and now I’m thinking I won’t be able to start the check and still take it away the same day. Great timing.

I went to my LGS yesterday to pick up a transfer and usually get in and out in about 10 minutes. They told me it's 5-6 hours, fill out the 4473 and come back today. Went in today and it was done. It's crazy right now.

My usual FFL, home based, is not taking visitors to his home due to Covid and a vulnerable family member living in the home. So today I went to my LGS to pick up a pistol that they received for me and to ship out one I had sold. I haven't been to a LGS in a very long time. I pulled up to find a tent in the parking lot with chairs, mostly occupied. I filled out my 4473 and turned it in at 12:45 PM. They came out and called my name at 2:15 PM. It was a mad house.

No, none except for a STAG lefty, or Christensen. No 12ga buckshot at any of our distributors in any brand. No matter - no home defense shotguns either, 95% of the handguns for that matter. Some are weeks behind in shipping too. PA NICS went down at 7:15 tonight, with lenghty delays before that. UGH...

I was at a Cabela’s earlier tonight, and I thought they must have removed the handguns from the display cases since there were so few on display. The counter guys told me that that was all they had since this latest buying spree.

I knew their ammo was probably going to be in low supply, but to see their cases depleted was a sight to see. Also, no surprise here, but anything 9 mm was the most popular.
