| I got a bottle of Toki today for $10.00 off regularly price, so I thought "what the hell".
I'm a Bourbon drinker. I have tried several Scotch, and want to like them, but most I can't do. I like the peatiness of scotch, but get turned off on it being "overpowering", this has been a problem.
With this, it has a subtle pettiness that I like.

| I have never tried Japanese Whisky, but always wondered about it. I am a bourbon drinker, and have never developed a taste for Scotch, regardless of the brand. After reading this thread, I am thinking that Japanese whisky is not for my taste buds.....is this correct? |

I'm much like you. I'm a Bourbon person. I have tried several different Scotch even some very high end stuff, but couldn't get into them. But, after seeing this thread, I was in a relatively new liquor store and they had it on special at $10.00 off, so I got a bottle to try, and I will say that I'm liking it, but it ain't Bourbon! It tastes like a very subtle Scotch. The peat is there, but it's very subtle, all the flavors are. So it's easy to drink. I like it, and I'll get it again to stock my "meager bar", but I'll keep to my roots, Bourbon. I say give it a try, you might found a "Scotch" that you can like. ARman |
