“A New Jersey man is facing accusations of insurance fraud after he was caught on video throwing ice onto the floor and faking a slip and fall.

Alexander Goldinsky, 57,  of Randolph, New Jersey, can be seen in a surveillance video from a cafeteria at a Woodbridge, New Jersey, pretending to slip and fall on some ice, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey.

In the video posted on the prosecutor's Facebook page, the 57-year-old can be seen filling a cup with ice from a soda machine in the cafeteria, then walking away a short distance before deliberately spilling the ice onto the floor.

He then turns around, takes small steps walking back to where cubes are visible and quickly looks around before gingerly lying down on the floor.

Goldinsky then waited on the floor until he was discovered, according to the prosecutor's office…”

One can only imagine how many fraud cases go unsuspected or unproven. Sadly, it is cheaper to insurance companies to pay out than perform rigorous investigations. The bill just gets passed on to the honest participants. Glad they caught this shitbag on camera for all of his friends, family, and acquaintances to see.

Yep. My first legal job was with a Chicago grocery store chain. At any one time, we had over 100 slip-and-fall lawsuits pending. A significant percentage we knew to be fraudulent. But, as you said, it's cheaper to settle than to fight.

One of my favorites was the guy who fell and broke his leg. He almost got run over by a car as he crawled across the street so he could claim he fell in one of our parking lots.

There is video out there from a CCTV camera inside a Philadelphia SEPTA bus that hits something, you then see the bus come to a quick halt, then a few seconds go by, then half the passengers fall on the floor of the bus "writhing in agony"

Way back when I worked in the county jail was doing rounds and watched a prisoner get out of the shower. He looked around then flopped himself in the floor screaming he’s hurt. I told him enough of his fake crap. It was funny even the other prisoners in his block were making fun of him!

I still remember 15-20 years ago a Philly City bus was empty heading back to the barn and got into an accident. Somehow something like 15 people reported to a local hospital and reported being on the bus.
I'm going to search and see if I can come up with the article.
