FOOD

If you've ever eaten one of these, you've had a "hyperbolic paraboloid."

OK. dv/dt would be shorthand for the first derivative. At any rate you tested my memory of differential calculus.

what is the brain?

While your brain represents about 2-3% of your total body weight, 25% of the cholesterol in your body is found in your brain, where it plays important roles in such things as membrane function, acts as an antioxidant, and serves as the raw material from which we are able to make things like progesterone, estrogen, cortisol, testosterone and even vitamin D.

The title of this novel (and later the film), was supposed to suggest soybeans and lentils.

HISTORY

In 1945, a device nicknamed the "Gadget" was used to produce this for the very first time.

Correct, the first nuclear detonation (assuming you meant the first atomic mushroom cloud). The official codename was "Trinity". The device was an implosion-type plutonium fission bomb, of the same design as the Fat Man bomb dropped on Nagasaki less than a month later. The decision to do a test explosion first was based on the complexity of the implosion design (vs. the simpler design of the Little Boy bomb dropped on Hiroshima).
