I use Turbo Tax to print to PDF. There are two sets you can print to PDF - Only what's needed for filing and the other set includes your notes and computations. From a PDF file, you should be able to print to a hard copy. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Federal e-filing is included. State e-filing has always been $20 extra, and they've always made it readily apparent that it's extra. For example: "Includes 5 federal e-files and 1 state download (State e-file sold separately)" ![]() And guess what... H&R Block's software also charges $20 more for state e-filing! Their Deluxe + State software offer is set up the exact same way: Federal return + 1 state return included, with free Federal e-filing, but state e-filing sold separately. ![]() "Five free federal e-files... One state program download included (state e-file available for $19.95)" ![]() Pot and kettle. Apples and apples. Same-same.

I know the State would prefer e-filing, and it would be easier for everyone, including me. BUT I print and mail my State return to avoid the $20 more for my state e-filing. WHY? Because it pisses me off! "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

I get it. But I just figure it into the cost of preparing my tax return. Even $65 is still a lot cheaper than paying an accountant to do it.

No, it would not print from a PDF file. This is a know issue with Macs. TT published several times that it would be corrected, but it was not. And I had my friend, a younger man with a degree in computer science, work with it and he failed as well. Worst, case, I'll pay an accountant.

Probably the best situation overall given your thoughts and difficulties noted above. I've done hundreds of returns from TT and TC and while there are differences one way or the other they don't matter to a hill of beans. And mastering the computer platform underlying it all is just a basic prerequisite to success. Outsource it and be happy. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

So basically, I didn't buy or sell or much anything else, and my insurance deductible got paid by Abbvie for a participating study so that was out, and I only had one W-2, so why not try the IRS recommended e-file, right? Filed on Monday night, got my refund overnight. Color me shocked. ___________________________ He looked like an accountant or a serial-killer type. Definitely one of the service industries.

Then it's not a TurboTax issue, since you're unable to print from multiple different programs, only one of which is made by TurboTax. (They didn't make, and have nothing to do with, your PDF reader software...) There's something wrong with your printer or its drivers.
