Kind of sad how inflation has made this so expensive.
Sort of rules out painting, reviving a lot of old cars unless you do it your self.
Funny note, the autobody self promoters on Reddit say every paint job is $10K.

My buddy in high school bought a 54 Buick. Took it to Earl Scheib and the paint flaked off in a month. We could have done a better job with a wide brush and a bucket of cheap paint.

$800 isn’t bad. They have to blend the paint too. So say you had to have a quarter panel replaced on a vehicle. The new quarter panel is not the only thing they have to paint. They have to paint the areas around the quarter panel too, to blend it all in.
