Florida neighborhood on alert for escaped cobra
Idiots. Why the hell should people be allowed to keep a non-native, highly posinous snake?

Issue everybody in that neighborhood a long handled garden hoe.

Well in two weeks all the non-natives go north, I'll be sure to send the Cobra up with one of the Illinois Nazis heading north.

What are the legal ramifications if I call the number after I chop the cobra into a hundred pieces with my long handled garden hoe.

Something similar happened in Richmond, VA, mid 90's.

Guy had several venomous snakes, and was attempting to pull the eyecaps off his cobra, because when it shed, the skin didn't come off the eyes. So he used tweezers.

He ended up getting life flighted to VCU, and had something like 37 vials of anti-venin injected. Plus he had to pay for the helicopter ride.

It's been awhile, but I think his bill was around $37,000.

An expensive lesson in stupidity.

I apologize now...

Nothing. "Officer, I found the missing Cobra. Some sick bastard chopped it into a hundred pieces and threw it on my lawn. Can you come clean up the mess?" Smile

Ok, I thought there was another loose Cobra in Florida in the past. It was in 2015 and was a King Cobra.

Ok, that big scary bastard warrants a 10mm, who the fuck would want a super venomous and pissed off snake that's as thick as Hillary's kankles and 8 ft long?

I'm still laughing over the visual of pecking at a venomous snake with tweezers.

A "google" search of "florida escape cobra" gave 521,000 hits. There's a lot of duplication, but on the first two pages, separate incidents in September of 2015, November of 2015, and August 2016 popped up. That's a hint that maybe Floridians should give up that particular hobby.
