These people believe that they've found Noah's Ark.

The size, shape and location all lend credibility to their claim. I can't say for certain that it is Noah's Ark, but it is plausible.

While I have no doubt a literal flood killed life on earth except for eight souls aboard a literal ark, I am comfortable being skeptical regarding such things.

While it would be nice to discover the actual ark, I’m not Charlie Brown who believes just this once, Lucy will not pull the football away as he’s kicking it.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Remember "In Search Of" with Leonard Nimoy?

Anyway, in the last few years they have been making discoveries that have all been forgotten or dismissed that have been mentioned in the bible.

I KNOW the ark existed, because God's holy scripture says it did. I do believe it still remains on Mt Ararat. I think I held a piece of it in my hand in the 1970s. A guy visited our church with a small piece of what he claimed to be from the Ark. Now, I can't ever be certain that I held a piece of the actual Ark or not. But, it is possible.

I've always believed that, as we approach the end times, the Ark would be conclusively identified. But that is just my personal theory/opinion.

And, yeS, I LOVED the Bill Cosby Noah routine:

God: I want you to build an Ark.
Noah: Righhhtttt. What's an Ark?

God: It shall be 300 cubits....
Noah: Righhhtttt. What's a cubit?

I won't argue about it here , but I firmly believe that the story has become embellished over the centuries.

Can't be. I was told the dinosaurs never existed and that's all an ongoing satanic hoax because the bible says God created the world in seven days, so how could it be millions upon millions of years old?

I think it's more likely that dinosaurs are a divine test, rather than a satanic hoax. He won't tempt us, but He may test us.

He created the world. It's possible those "remains" were inherent in His design, for the purpose of a test.

The bible does make brief mention of creatures with tails like cedar trees. I tend to think that, had dinosaurs ever coexisted with people, they'd be more than a brief mention.

If sigmonkey's image of an elderly gentleman sawing lumber is to imply the impracticality of Noah's constructing the ark, I'd say that the dude lived for 950 years, 350 of which post-dated the flood. So, he wasn't exceptionally elderly. Maybe had the physique of a healthy 55yo. Not to mention the most commonly-suggested duration of construction seems to be ~70 years. That's plenty of time for a healthy 55yo to build a big ol' boat with God's help.

I am not sure how this factors into any ongoing discussion, but it's possible that the flood was the first time it ever rained. The bible doesn't explicitly state this, but it's a possibility.

Skepticism online seems often based in logistics: The animals' pee and poop, the problems of food and unhealthy living conditions for all involved, etc. When God's involved, these things are alleviated. God performs miracles and is sovereign. I am sure he had a solution for these problems.
