That's plenty of time for a healthy 55yo to build a big ol' boat with God's help.

I think the Monkey, and a few other early posters [newtosig, Gustofer] here are referring to the Bill Cosby 'Noah' skit.

Non-Christians should be envious of Christians, because they have faith in an afterlife; streets of gold, reunion with loved ones, atonement with their creator.

Y'see, from the perspective of this existence, it doesn't matter if it's true; it matters only that they believe it's true.

If you need this explained to you, you haven't pondered the matter sufficiently. If there is an afterlife that Christians envision, then they will know their faith was true and will have their reward, and if it's not true, they won't know it, and neither will anyone else.

One way or the other, in this life, Christians are comforted by their faith, and therefore are the lucky ones.

The website asks for donations. Typically such a request is an attempt to obtain money, and "the cause" is just a front. If there is something, I hope they dig it up and use carbon dating.

Most or all ancient cultures had flood myths, including tales which predate the Genesis Flood Myth by more than a thousand years.

The Epic of Gilgamesh, et al

As with much in the Bible (especially the Old Testament), it's allegory.

Or maybe it's BECAUSE that flood in Genesis actually did happen and all those stories are echoing down through time.
