I don’t even have an ‘ice maker’ in the fridge, door water either. Just seems like one more thing to leak, and deal with when moving.

I like my old fashioned thermostat for the house too.

We have a $500 automatic cat litter box (litter robot) and it is awesome. Now, I see the new model is blu tooth so you can have a smart phone app to keep track of your cats regularity. LOL Some people have too much time on their hands.

If you want to sell something in the market today, just add wifi and bt and people will flock to buy it
Some just have to have the latest greatest technology and the ability to connect to it, regardless if the connectivity makes sense or not.

Now to admit I'm one of those gottahaveit people, have slowed my involvement in tech for the house a bit.

We have Rachio lawn watering controller, Nest Thermostat, and MyQ garage door controller.

The new Oven has wifi, it tells me when it's done on a cooking cycle, which is good, when it's time to run a clean cycle, and I can start it pre-heating on the way home from the store.

Still have to wash my hands manually...

I have to get back to designing the wifi/bt toilet paper dispenser, you'll get a warning that the TP level is low before you go in sit and find that out the hard way... The big issue is, do we have one install method for roll direction, over the top or down the back...
