Ugh!! Been dealing with some medical issues for our 10 year old for a few years now with no answers.
Got here a bit ago and now waiting on the anesthesiologist to come in and roll him back. The are inserting a Picc line for his stay so they can draw blood frequently without multiple sticks and no worry about the IV stopping and needing to be relocated.
After recovery he’ll get to eat for the last time for the duration of our stay. He is super nervous but doing well.
We’re over 2 hours from home. Mama will be with him almost the whole duration and I will be bouncing home and back frequently to be with our other two boys still at home with the in-laws.
Going to be a long stay. Hopefully we’ll finally get some answers on these glucose related issues.

My dad was in the hospital a few months ago. The first five days, they told him everyday what they were looking for before the next step would happen. Around day six, nobody could tell him why they weren’t releasing him. Day seven rolled around and he said if they didn’t tell him that day what the hold up was, he’d quit eating. Day eight still no word, he skipped breakfast, lunch, and he was out by 1:30pm.

I hope you can get some answers fast and come up with a plan for your son.

All the best. Medical issues suck, and chronic issues that nobody can get a handle on are soul crushing. I hope this stay will allow them to get things figured out and start on a treatment that will get them corrected so you can all get your lives back.

Sorry this is happening to your family. I hope your Youngest gets a concrete diagnosis soon that is not scary and allows him to get on the road to recovery.
