If this bureaucracy learns it can redefine law, it can redefine guns until they are all illegal. That’s progressive.

It will absolutely be left up to the courts...again. However, a half way decent judge should refuse this behavior given the ATF's original decision paved the way for tens to hundreds of thousands of people to buy these items 'legally', only to now have the ATF try to essentially make them illegal if owners don't knuckle under to their BS amnesty game.

And I'm with others here. If the ATF can get away with this BS, there is little that will stop them from re-classifying whatever firearms they don't want us to have access to anymore, simply regulating away the 2A. Do not play their game.

Since 2013, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) estimates that over 3 million stabilizing braces, or pistol braces, have been sold in the U.S.

They have been corrupt for decades!

I've been seeing huge disparities in these estimates over the last couple years. TTAG claims the ATF is estimating "over 3 million PSB" Large Format Pistols owned in the US, I've seen other estimates saying 4 million, and the most recent estimate I've seen is from the Washington Gun Law team that claims there is 2019 data that suggests 20-40 million PSB equipped Large Format Pistols were in existence at that time, and believes the current number is likely much higher than that now.

I would not equate the issues with pistol braces with the issues with bump stocks. The ATF's rules against bump stocks machine guns are defined in a way that is not at all supported by the language of the NFA. The reclassification of braced pistols as short barreled rifles fits will into the definition of SBRs under the NFA.

Some more information.
Basically all the same at this point but I didn't know about the one case in court right now.
