I’ll be in Waco for a couple of days next week.

Any recommendations?

Best regards,

Tom

Don’t forget to visit the Texas Ranger Museum on the southeast side of the river. They say they bring in a Ranger on Tuesday to talk to folks.

I work with lots of Rangers in my investigations, pass the museum often, but have never gone to it. Shame on me as I need to check it out. A friend of mine and ex-coworker who is now retired was a Captain of the Texas Rangers and he has a pistol on display there. His name is Howard “Dino” Henderson and a great man. I am working two cases at this moment with two different Rangers from different “Companies”, which is what they call regions.

As far as gun shops, I am not aware of any special. I recently went to a gun show in Temple. If you made it down to Austin, then GT Distributors is a great gun store that used to be only exclusive to LE back in the day.

A guy named Leo Bradshaw had an interesting shop in Waco, 30 years ago. Had lots of really good old Winchesters and Colts. He may well have passed away by now.

Edit: yes, Leo passed in March of 2019.

Praco Guns is good place especially for used guns and a pretty good selection of new guns.Unique Guns is also a long time Waco shop, have been doing business with them since the early 2000's when they were in a different building. I haven't bought anything from them in a while so not sure if anything has changed. There is a shop here in my town that is related to one of the partners at Unique Guns and hes top notch(Guns Unlimited)maybe I'm a little biased for hometown shops.

I have been to Fun Guns a few times, nice selection but only a few interactions. They seem like good guys but haven't actually bought anything. There is a range/shop called Republic Gun Club, I have been there maybe 2-3 times nothing purchased but nice building and heard range is good.
