My favorite cheese. Safeway sells a type at their deli they call "Baby Swiss". I don't know anything about where it comes from, but it is my favorite.

Being spoiled here in Wisconsin with the local stores carrying 3-4 types of Swiss and the specialty and cheese stores carrying another 5 or 6 types of Swiss. There is always Swiss cheese in my fridge.

I discovered swiss as a child when my parents would stop at a little Amish dairy near Darby Plains, OH. Picked up swiss to take to my grandparents then stopped again on the way home for ourselves. Good stuff.

Swiss is my favorite for turkey and/or ham sandwiches and makes a great combo with mushrooms on burgers.

Jarlsberg is a nice alternative to Swiss. It has a mild taste similar to Swiss (and has holes). Jarlsberg is guaranteed to be made from milk of grass fed cows. Originally from Denmark, but one US dairy makes it under license, adhering to the grass fed stricture. I buy it at my upscale grocery. Danish wedges, US made sliced.

Yes, one of the few cheeses I like. I'm lucky to live in an area with several cheese makers. The one that usually wins best Swiss cheese in the state is about 15 miles from my house.
