Chris42Junior.Again, for the evening news - “Today, Junior apprehended a shoplifter……………”
Junior might be the biggest, meanest dog out there, but with a name like Junior, he sounds pretty tame.
“Killer” and “Eat’m” would be good names for security dogs - “Get him Killer!” could be pretty intimidating, but not so good for a police dog.
“Ethel” would be a pretty, tame name for a police dog, but being correctly trained could even appear bi-polar. Friendly meeting kids, a terror for shady people approaching the cop.

PluguglyA friend who is a deputy in another county has a German shepherd named "Justice". A drug dog that used to serve in this county was a black lab named "Doobie".

henryaz Stryker is curiously popular in the real world of K-9s. It is also my last name, and what my wife named her K-9 partner.

gw3971My GSD's are named Hondo and Hannibal. Some of my favorite police K9 names for dogs have been Kahn, Zuhl, and Django. I knew an officer who had a k9 partner named Atticus. Atticus wore out his incisors and at an early age and had metal replacement teeth installed. Fearsome looking beast.

Turbo216My department's newest K9 is named Reno, as in 911.
My wife's former K-9 was Ronnie (he had a notoriously nervous stomach and the guys on her shift called him "Runny")
Hater of fun since 2001!
