A good friend of mine's father was a Marine Raider in WWII, then on to be a Chicago Cop for 30+ years. One TOUGH sob!

One of his sayings was "War is hell, waiting is worse."

Last night I was detailed to Downtown Chicago. I watched many storefronts being boarded up... Sad.

Sad in the fact that in the greatest country in the world, we're expecting rioting for an election. This is the USA, not some 3rd world shithole.

Now, I'm getting my riot gear ready, because I don't know how the petulant children are going to act. I'm ready. Most of my people are ready. It's the waiting that sucks...

I just want it done and over with.

There's more than a handful of Cops here on Sig Forum, I hope all goes well for them. I hope all goes well and peaceful for all of us and we don't put up with any of the nonsense that has shown its ugly head across the country.

I hope that at the dawn of a new day, we're able to drink our cofevve, milk or orange juice with a smile on our face knowing that THIS COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY will remain the GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.

Portland had a dress rehearsal last night near Portland State University. They took out a Starbucks and tried to set fire to some store. 2 morons arrested; one white and black - males.

So, LEO had their chance to work out the kinks for when the real festivities begin.

It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.

Just told a buddy, "this would be the ideal time for a black flag attack".

During the Euro Maidan riots in Kiev many believe the "snipers were actually working for the western supporters and not the "evil" russian supported lawful government.

That event was one of the leading events in the downfall of the president.

Not sure if they are just sitting in their parents basement while spouting their fantasy on zoom but as we have seen in several cities some of their ilk are quite serious.

Trying to find an article I read this morning where people are reporting piles of bricks found on Denver streets...just like in Seattle and Portland.

My wife and were talking yesterday and she asked if the crazies are a concern for us as we live in a suburb of a major metro area (DFW).

I told her it would have to get very silly for it to reach us as we are 20 miles away but I certainly would not want to be 5-10 miles away.

Not to mention we live in Texas and the bubbas (proudly one myself) would line up along I75 and the DNT if there was even a hint that the black clad crowds were coming north Big Grin

Dewhorse, please e-mail me at my address in my profile regarding safety in the DFW area. I can give you some info if you let me know your location.

Stay safe...and that goes for all of your men and women there with you and across the country. It's a damn shame that all this is necessary just because a bunch of scum think they have a right to carry out all the violence and destruction because they don't get their way.

That would be a shame if they took out some of their own because they were disguised as Trump supporters. A damn shame.

I am just really sad that we are in a place where wide spread rioting is just to be expected as well as saddened by the fact that little will be done to quell / arrest / incarcerate the bad actors.

I am 100% pro 2nd amendment. I am 100% pro people having every means to protect themselves and family. I am however dismayed that we have reached a point where so many feel that they will have to do so.

I truly pray that all of the new gun owners, well all of us, never have to use arms in anger and I pray the new owners will vote and help remove the 2nd amendment as a political issue. I look forward to a time again where the vast majority of us can once again view our firearms as a sport/hobby/and for the sheer pleasure of ownership.

To everybody in harms way do your best to stay safe. To all the LEO’s, guardsman etc. who have a front seat at the shit show, thank you and keep your head on a swivel. Take care, prayers for all of you.

It's easy to tell the difference.

Police, "Trump Supporters", patriots and others on the Right are pretty calm and well mannered.

These whiny children are anything but.

And when provoked to wrath, the "silent majority" have a way of letting troublemakers, know who they are.

These idjits truly do not have a clue, but let them continue to finger fuck the pin the the grenade.

snoris, I live in "Dallandson" (where east Dallas, Garland, and Richardson come together). I'm not expecting any unrest here, even though my street is very mixed racially. If there is trouble downtown, I don't care--I don't go there.

Drove through downtown Portland early last week. Windows were boarded up for a 5-6 block radius from the police station and federal court building. Along the typical protest paths. There wasn't as much damage as I thought there would be. Overall the riots/protests have calmed down so I believe things are a bit cleaner than they were. The protests are still ongoing.

Yesterday the governor ordered a crew few starting at 5 pm. She directed the State Police and County Sheriff department to take over policing of the city and deal with any unrest. She also put the national guard on standby to support.

The Portland police dept has been hampered by the city government. Mayoral runoff is taking place today. Unfortunately, the challenger is worse than the current mayor in terms of her grip on reality.

Heard on the radio during my lunch break that SPD has been ordered to stand down in anticipation of more “peaceful protests” tonight. Something about giving “protestors space” in order to “de-escalate.” Sounds to me more like “give them space to destroy. Unbelievable.

I’m going to stay up as late as I can to see what happens with the election, but I have to get up at 4:30, so I’ll follow up then. Kinda bummed about that since I’ve been looking forward to this day all year.

I hope all of Sigforum stays safe. Good luck and God bless, especially those of you suiting up to deal with the fallout.

You shouldn't have that much trouble over there unless the drag racers show up to close off an intersection near you and make life miserable for everyone within four blocks each way....stay safe!

that is UN-FUCKIN BELIEVBLE. These mayors need to be strung up for their deliberate actions to allow rioters and looter free reign!
