$15 for a quad is affordable? Used to be able to get those for $1.99. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Doug Patton.

I’m not trying to be snarky, but answer this. If the world goes off the rails to where the GPS system goes down, where are you going to go? I know a lot of preppers who are preparing to travel in such an event, but have made no arrangements for a place to go. There is no land of milk and honey, just waiting for all the refugees to arrive. Unless you have purchased land and laid up your own fortress, your best location is where you currently have all your resources, which is right where you are. If our world reverts to anarchy, our individual worlds will become very small, and we will all eventually live like 13th century peasants, not knowing much beyond our town’s borders. So my question is, why do I need maps, or more accurately, of what area do I need maps? Where will I be going? Demand not that events should happen as you wish; but wish them to happen as they do happen, and you will go on well. -Epictetus

I think it's affordable in that there's not a way I could make something as good for as little money and effort. And, because of our contemporary circumstances, something like a paper map is nowadays almost a "specialty" item, so I don't think $15 is out of line, for what it is you're getting. Like I said, you can download and print for free; you just have to make sure the scale is right. I don't intend to "bug out" to the land of milk and honey. I have maps that represent my location, the area in a ~20 mile radius, and a couple more distant areas of recreational interest. Somewhat unfortunately, that means quite a few maps, due to the scale required to show useful details.

^^^Good point, but I have always had a good topographical map of the surrounding area where I live.
