We have a bunch of outside cats (who our resident furry queen does not allow indoors) who we try to care for as best we can. Food, warm beds, shelter from weather etc.
One was a fixture - must have been over 13 years old. A little calico with the sweetest nature imaginable - always demanding cuddles.
She developed cancer on her upper lip and it was eating away at her face. Only thing to do was take her to the vet to be euthanised. I admit that I had a good blub. She went as sweetly as she had lived. What a good girl she was!
Didn't know where else to post - I feel that it was appropriate that she be remembered somewhere, however briefly.
Life is precious, even that of a funny little stray with a cuddles addiction.

We had to put down our 14 year old calico due to throat cancer. One of the most awful things I've had to do. I feel bad for you. ClievefromtheMed, you have my condolences.

Condolences my friend. She will be remembered here.

Taking care of outdoor cats is honorable but not always easy.

Good on you.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
Unfortunately my indoor cat has kidney disease and has now seemed to have totally lost her appetite. Off to vet this pm, but I can't imagine that it will be good news. Ah well, we do our duty....
