What an awesome skill / hobby to have! Your setup and forged keys look great! I'm sure you would have a lot of interest if you ever decided to sell them at some point.

The first batch are moving along.
I'm keeping track of the hours spent from the time the steel went into the forge to the end when they're done.

Teeth & grooves are cut in.

I've been thinking while doing this initial run that I may make a presentation gift box available.
I think it might make for a better gift that way.

Very cool. I am a bit envious and wish I had the time to give this hobby a try.

Got up early & got them finished.
I've been torn about the extent of finishing I should do on these.

I want them to look like keys but at the same time I also want them to be recognized as a hand forged bottle opener.
I'm open to criticism as these are the first batch.
I plan to keep making them in bunches of 6-8 but they are a bit tedious to make compared to a standard bottle opener especially since I'm trying to do a different pattern of teeth on each one.

Criticism? They are all wonderful examples of force multiplier levers. Suitable for stamping your mark into them. Maybe comment or opinion? I liked them before they were "finished" when they showed a plain metal / tan look. The cap dimple should be durable to last a lifetime, even for a bartender.

Did you know an early style of opener was called a churchkey?
