I’m the OP and I have cancelled my account.

A couple years ago when I played the game and got my price reduced I had a big credit. They wouldn’t give me a refund.

The card I was using got cancelled for lack of use. The only thing I had it connected to was serius xm. Since I had credit it didn’t get used for a year.

I then started getting calls telling me that they were taking me to collections over past due payments. The amount was $8.00.

This pissed me off big time. 20 plus years of being a customer and they took me to collections.

I hardly drive anymore being retired it’s not worth having it anymore…

I get the five dollar email offers several times a week now.

I got tired of that also and about a year ago just dropped the service entirely. Then I just plugged in a thumb drive with 1,600+ songs that I like and went on my merry way. I did finally have to call and tell them to quit begging me to come back. That seems to have worked so far.

So strange. You'd think it would be more profitable for them to have you as a $6 a month customer forever (listening to advertisements, generating revenue for them), rather than paying retention people to play this game with fewer and fewer customers every year (which is happening anyway). They're working hard to put themselves out of business.

ya for $6/month I'd sign up again.
But I refuse to play the renewal game with any company - I just cancel for good.

None of the channels I listen to have any advertisements. They have the occasional plug for another show or channel on Sirius but no revenue generating advertisements.

My guess is the call centers are in India so they are cheap.
Then add in the people that don’t catch the new renewal price for a month or two after it has kicked in.
Clearly it is cheaper as they have been doing it this way for years/decades maybe. I am not up on their finances but not heard of them being in trouble financially.

I’ve had the same thing happen but no collections. Card on file had an expired expiration date. So they shut off my service.

I’ll continue to do business with them because it means I can leave that got damn stupid ass phone at home a lot. I only have 1 “radio” and I get the streaming with it. So my other vehicles I’ll take the phone with me and use it for streaming Sirius or Pandora running Apple CarPlay. But my DD is the one with the radio on it and that’s what I drive most of the time. This enables me to say fuck that phone and I really like that. I pay $99 a year all in.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Most of the channels I listened to did. But mostly wasn't music.

I let mine go years ago because I wasn't going to pay that laughable amount they'd raised it to and wasn't willing to play the game. I don't haggle as a buyer or a seller.

I guess I am a moron and never even thought to listen to the Reds on Sirius.
I started poking around and I am currently listening to Texas vs LA Live.
I’ll try the Reds for their game tomorrow.

I have found that if you simply state your needs, SiriusXM personnel will help you. I just added a car to my account for $5.62 a month.

Retention is important to the custoemr service associates. They will look for promotions that they can apply to your accunt.

Now that I realize I can listen to the Reds.
$9.45 is nothing.
Was getting ready to drop $20 a month for the FanDuel Sports that is now doing their video streaming of the game.

I play the game with them. I just dont want to hook my IPhone up every time I make a short hop around town. And radio stations here in the Yoop suck!

Much appreciated. I am listening to the Cubs and Royals currently.
Keeping fingers crossed that tomorrow at 3:05 channel 847 works as these are so far.

I have to change my comment from before. The baseball channels have revenue generating advertisements.

Sirius XM is still a thing? I would have thought Spotify killed them off by now? You can stream them now like a music streaming service now and not use the satellite connection now, right?

Haven’t used them in 15 years, it’s Spotify and my local Independent radio station WXPN Philadelphia streamed via TuneIn Radio.

I just played the game this week. They wanted to fuck with me about retro dating the renewal as it had already billed, but I know they'll do it. I told them to cancel, at which point they told me they'd figure it out.

They also now have a plan that will just continue to bill at the existing rate, rather than jumping up to $2X.xx a month.

I cancelled and then they sent me an offer for 4 bucks a month, so I am back for a year.
