Sitting by the fireplace looking out the window after a good snow storm.

jumping out of a perfectly good airplane (assuming you have a chute on)

Scratching an itch.

You have to realize that there are different kinds of itches, both physical and mental.

Some really good replies. I'll add: a little wine with dinner, if you like wine and food together. I'm on lunch at work; I think of more later.

It used to be the ocean, particularly the Atlantic. Fishing at Dawn, the quiet, the Sunrise.

Now it's the desert, again the tranquility, the smell, the changing colors.

My son giggling

Hearing 16000 plus chant ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK with 59 seconds left.

Taking the lid off the coffee grinder after grinding some fresh beans.

Watching my dog rub all the kisses off her face on the carpet, then coming back for more.

A simple exchange of a smile between strangers. I learned as a young man that you never know what someone might be going through. That small gesture could be huge especially in tough times..

The smell of the air after a thunderstorm while sitting out on the patio.

Watching the sun come up while fishing or hunting.

The smell of the coffee brewing first thing in the morning.

Camp fire. I'd be gone from home for work for weeks or months. A camp fire is how I'd disconnect from the job and reconnect to the family. Something about the flames, sounds and smells is soul soothing.
