I give locally and mostly to my old high school which my daughter attends.
I'll give to the shelter and it's food donations or clothes. Other than that, nope.

I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

I don't give money to any organization who has such obscenely wasteful events at all.

Want to hit the resort on your own dime, knock yourself out. I like them, too. But charities have no business spending money in such ways, despite assertions to the contrary. I expect charities to run on razor thin budgets and give all-but-literally-everything back. Anything else just assures I won't be supporting them. No one is hitting Mar-Lago on me...

Indeed. Completely agree with my friend WH and our most eloquent Dr. OR.

Very disappointed with the SA.

Isn't the United Way another one of those "charities" with YUUUUGE, bloated "administrative costs"??

We don't give to any National Charities any more. These outfits always begging for money and got plenty to throw a big bash for themselves,-----NOT.

United Way is just an "arm" twisting charity, with companys making employees pony up for people who won't take care of themselves.

Yeah, a few pennies out of every dollar you donate might be applied as you the donator intend, but the bulk of your donation goes to paying salaries and paying for parties and "conferences" in logical places like the Bahamas or Bora-Bora. It's nothing but a con game and I am not going to pay for the lifestyles of leeches, especially leeches whose politics are diametrically opposed to mine.

You know it's true. How many times have we heard of the shameless misappropriation of donations, to pay for lavish "conferences" which are nothing more than parties for executives, or pay their ridiculous high six figure salaries. No way.

Costanza's "Human Fund" had almost no overhead, something unheard of in National charities. Wink

And don't get me started on United Way. Employers, leave your employees alone about this stuff. If you're so hot to donate to UW, go ahead and pony up, but it's going to be your money, not ours.

Susan G. Komen Perfect Pink Party

is now on the list.

So all these "charities" are saying their politics is more important than the people they were intending to help. Pretty fucked up people running these. I predict layoffs in the future for many of these organizations.

Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

IMO, it is not the commie ideology here. It is the feeling of absolute immunity from any kind of responsibility for how they spend donor money.

Reminds me of the ARC many years ago when they held their annual meeting of big wigs in Frankfurt Germany.

No expense too large, no benefit too high on the hog.

We quit "donating" to any of those "charitable organizations" long ago. We do our charity work between us and those in need.

Precisely the point I was making several posts back. What these people are unwittingly doing is raising awareness of how they waste donor money.

Put another way: Any "charitable" organization that's so flush it can afford to throw posh galas at the likes of Mar-a-Lago doesn't need my meagre contribution.

Just Tweeted to @SalvationArmyUS: "Every Xmas for as long as I can remember I've dropped $20 in a red kettle. Sadly, for bowing to fascist leftists: No more."

What I find amusing is that Donald Trump doesn't have different views now that he's the president. Why do these organizations suddenly feel the need to cancel their events at his family's establishment?
