This. Some of all time my favorite albums were released in the last decade, and I've discovered so many bands, both new and some that have been out there longer than this past decade

No, I'm not done with music, movies and television at all.

What I AM done with is: commercial top 40 bullshit music/terrestrial radio (except one non-com station in Philly), Hollywood mega-million $ blockbuster garbage and most network television.

Instead I am into independent music groups like Arcade Fire and Dawes and movies like what Netflix and Amazon are producing, or a British non-Hollywood hit like Yesterday and into TV shows like The Mandalorian and Man In The High Castle on streaming services.

We watch only a few new movies a year. I would rather watch a classic movie for the 5th time vs most new movies. TV has been crushed to the gutter. We may watch select series on Netflix etc, but we do not watch any network TV regularly anymore. I just can not take the advertising any more. The same ads hammered into your brain every 3 minutes. This is very bad for one's mental health. Regarding music, you have to look for content away from what is provided on most radio stations etc. That is all controlled by the big media companies now and for the most part, is garbage content. There is great music out there, but most of it is local and or indie content. I am glad I have a huge record collection, and I can listen to whatever I want. Mostly content from the 40s through the early 90s.

I think that there's a lot of great music out there, and the internet has opened up distribution for a bunch of artists with talent who would never have gotten record deals under the label system.

I'm not thinking of any one particular artist, but I have heard (Pandora, etc. and Youtube) a bunch of wonderfully talented artists, playing their instruments with skill, who are actually getting back to playing music, rather than relying on autotune or sampling.

This is correct. You have to look for content outside of the major media channels. There is a LOT of great music out there. Go to local shows! Support your local musicians. They are much better than the auto-tuned garbage you hear on the radio.

I haven’t seen a movie in nearly a decade, tv has been replaced by youtube, music replaced by podcasts.

Movies: If a movie interests me, I wait till its streaming. Hollyweird can KMA.
Music: Modern music gags me. I am actually thinking of launching a rap / hip hop career since I am ugly, talent-less and stupid. I just need someone to shoot me and a stretch in jail to complete my resume.
Love TCM.

I agree, the radio plays the sos. Some great music I've heard didn't come over the radio waves.

Went to see 1917 over the weekend with the wife, decent movie.
But I won’t go anymore.
I’m done.
30 minutes of previews of nothing but bullshit and louder explosions.
Yep, if I wanna watch it or listen to it, I’ll go back in time.

Really ironic bc tv and sound technology have never been better.
Weird.
