Are these things pretty durable...last more than one winter? Looking to get my son one for Christmas...he's the guy who sleeps in to the last minute leaving no time to scrape his windshield in the mornings.

Cheap solution is to turn on the wipers and shut the ignition off when they are half up (or down) and put a piece of cardboard under them.

I'd be afraid somebody would vandalize it out of spite.

If your son can't get up in time to warm his car up, i doubt he'd take the 10 minutes or so it looks like it'd take to attach that! Get him a remote start. Total game changer. Hit the button twice 15 min before leaving, your cars totally warm when you walk up to it.

I'm not sure about that brand, but I bought the FrostBlocker brand at Costco, 4 years ago, and it's still going strong. Eliminates tons of scraping on cold days for the work car.

I start the car, turn on the rear defrost, crank the heater temp to max, with the fan on the lowest setting. By the time I scrape the side windows, the engine has started to warm up, the rear window is clear, so I can pull the FrostBlocker off the windshield, and turn up the fan on the heater.

What about them? I just assumed scraping the windows, and leaving the snow on your roof was proper etiquette. At least, that’s what it seems to be around here.

That's better than around me. They just make a fist sized hole in the snow on the front windshield and drive that way. No need to see to the sides or the rear.

P229 357SIG Man, get his lazy ass a remote start. Did the same for my kids.

It takes less than 30 seconds to put on the one I use, and the one I got was less than $20 at Costco.

We have a couple from AutoAnything a few years back that were custom fit. I forget the brand.

They take about two minutes (if that) to put on and work as advertised.

Well Chowser, you're right, he is a lazy ass. I mentioned it to him this morning and he said..."I'd probably be too lazy to put in on at night...I'm just being honest."
