First at bat - frozen Idaho steak fries.

But first, a couple of “test” runs to get rid of the burning plastic smell.

I wonder if I can toast bread or bagels

The air fryer drawer is about 9.25" square. Can I put a 9" diameter pizza on the tray? Or will that inhibit convection and not cook well (might as well use the toaster oven)? Or will it still get sufficient convection for the bottom?

How much of the 9x9" tray can I cover with food?

Frozen steak fries came out pretty good. I think better than the toaster oven.

Squash came out pretty good too. Tender with some nice carmelization.

Next up: pacific cod filet for dinner. Thinking just salt, old bay and some oil.

Hadn't used my Krups toaster oven I bought 25 years ago for about 6 years and recently donated it. My cooking needs have pretty much been satisfied by Instant Pot pressure cookers (6 qt) with an airfryer/dehydrater lid and a smaller 3 qt Instant Pot for smaller jobs and even a cheapo airfryer for smaller warm-ups. I'm still amazed how fast a microwave heats up left over meats.

This little Dash airfryer was $30 in 2019 (50 now). Still comes in handy although I don't use it as much as the Instant Pot lid.

I have the Ninja combo one airfryer/pressure cooker.

I only use it a few times a month but works great and is easy clean up.

We have the Breville Joule Air Fryer Pro. Got it for the wife for birthday last year to replace a toaster oven. It's been really good at everything we've done: cakes, pizza, thinner meats, reheats, air-fry of frozen foods. We often use this rather than heat up the big 36 gas oven, esp. since kids are out at college and we done need to make as much. My oldest has one of the older Ninja flip-up toaster/fryer that he loves.

Air fryers are great but dont think your going to get your french fries to taste like they came out of deep fryer.

The wife initially complained about another appliance on the counter but was soon happy to have it. By the time you preheat the oven the air fryer is done.

So easy to do fresh, cut fries from a idaho potato so they're 1/4-1/2" thick, toss in just a little vegetable oil, salt and pepper. Air fry at 400F for 17-20 minutes, stop the air fryer every 5 minutes and toss the fries around. Mine come out pretty close to tasting like a deep fryer.

Wings air fry very well also same way (don't cut them).

Costco sells wild caught Salmon Fillets that are seasoned and individually frozen. I put one straight out of the freezer and into the air fryer for 14 minutes. It comes out perfectly done!

This one has been excellent. I've had a couple but its been the best so far. The trays are cleanable without the coating flaking off. It can match cook both baskets for have 2 different foods finish at the same time.

It revives old fries and crisps the fried stuff up really easily. We have one we got at Costco. If it dies, I would immediately go get another one. Just don't push the rear vent up against the wall, which will cause it to overheat.

I usually cook those skin side down on the grill. 450f for about 4-5 minutes.

Maybe I’ll try the frier.
