4MUL8RTool Chest -- Any Concerns With Husky?
I need a 52 inch combination tool chest. Husky has this size. Other brands do not. Size matters, I am told.
If I do not make big changes to the garage to permit a 56 inch chest, I think Husky is the only brand. I like their white chest.
At $1200, the cost is not cheap (think Legion). But, I've suffered for 20 years with makeshift chests, cabinets, etc. and I want to do this in the SigForum style now.
So, I'm only requesting input on Husky, specifically concerns about which you may know.
Thanks in advance.

P250UA5Father in law has a wood topped Husky. Seems like a nice unit & definitely better than my 3 little Craftsman boxes. His might be a 52 [width].

kent jI have 2 both wood topped. A 48 and a 56. Have had them several years and they have held up well. Much stronger and smoother opening than my craftsmans.

maxxpowerI too am casually looking for a new tool chest and the Milwaukee's seem to be a touch nicer than the Husky's as far as construction and drawer bearing feel.
Not sure if this fits what you're looking for but I would at least take a look at their lineup.

OKCGeneA cheap trick is making them to look really nice etc but the drawers are short from front to back. That’s the only complaint about my 5 Husky boxes.
Measure them before you buy.
Also the tall boxes with little front to back size are more susceptible to tipping forward.
I’m happy with them otherwise.

sjtillBe sure to get the heavy duty Husky model--has black handles rather than aluminum/silver color.
I am extremely happy with my 72 inch wood-top work table/tool chest. Drawers open and close very well no matter how much weight in them. Have had no problem with finish at all--had this about 3 years.
Highly recommend!

architectI have
this one that looks almost identical to the Husky unit linked above. It is a solid, decently-built unit.

GibbI have a Craftsman workbench that is from the early 90's, and a newer Husky Tool Chest. There is almost no difference in overall quality for me.
The drawers are just as smooth and stay open without issue. I have no issues with the weight of a full socket set in the smaller (shorter) drawers, and the deeper ones are perfect for my battery tools.
I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself. January 21, 2023, 03:34 PM
KDRI have two Husky tool chests. Both have served me very well for the past 8 years. For home owner use I think they’re great. If I was working out of them everyday or needed security I’d spend more to get more, but I recommend them.

I have the heavy duty model with the wood top you can crank up. It’s built like a tank.

TBHI’ve also been thinking about getting one for the basement. It would be nice to have all my Milwaukee tools, high cap mags, and basic tools in one place and lockable.
I’m looking hard at Costco Trinity brand. Sadly, no 56 inchers.

BlackTalonJHPThe $1200 Husky 52" was on sale for Christmas for $1000 and will probably be on sale again.
By the way the $1200 Husky 52" has more outlets, 18 gauge steel, and wood table drawer vs the $1100 Husky 52" which is 19 gauge steel and no wood topped drawer.

Russ59I can’t comment on the Husky. I got a 42”(?) Craftsman for Father’s Day 2 years ago
What I appreciate is simply having more space in the drawers versus cramming tons of tools. Now I can easily see the very tool I’m looking for instead of digging.

CopefreeI have
this 52" Husky model and it’s as good as the reviews say it is. I’d recommend it without hesitation … I’ve had mine for about a year.

I have that same one in my garage, along with some other bits. Works great, would have no problem with another Husky. Though, the garage is full, so probably not gonna get another.
