Services are Thursday 2,000 miles away. Frown

Due to medical complications I can't travel to be there. Everyone back East knows and understands, but still....

One of my nieces, a granddaughter, posted this today.

Picture was taken at Green Lakes State Park, Brian's Landing restaurant, Fayetteville, NY, in the last couple of years.

A private picture I hesitated to post. But it is so sweet and tender. A last goodbye with my mom 2 days before he passed in the hospice.

Wow, that picture!

I just looked it up. 16 million Americans served in WWII. There are about 100,000 left. My dad and all my uncles who served are gone. I hope your step-dad felt prepared to go. Peace to your mom.

I've recently received several emails expressing thoughtful sentiments about my stepdad passing. They are truly appreciated.
