You can hunt for the Chinese fairing company. They might make it. The holes won’t line up and you’ll have to mod it but I’ve seen some come out pretty good. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I have autographed pictures of ROssi. Loris Caparossi. Foggy. Troy Bayliss. Colin Edward. All framed. My helmet collection is quite extensive also. We are like-mided race freaks! ___________________ "He who is without oil, shall throw the first rod" Compressions 9.5:1

Nicely done. Ever done a track day? Ridesmart or another group. I just went to Cresson last weekend and got promoted to advanced group. Quite excited about it! I think that's a great paint job. good job. But for those asking about track use, I've been racing motorcycles for a very long time and once gave a go at racing a 1198s, its pretty far from usable and competitive despite a pretty big set of fixes. If you want to try I have a pile of the necessary parts. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

The 1198S Corse is the track version run by Bayliss with lights and turn signals. It has been remapped and after market exhaust. Higher compression ration, full top of the line Ohlins. The key now is having the better Pirellis for the DTC. It is pretty stable, it just doesn't like low RPM's What parts do you have? Might be curious.... ___________________ "He who is without oil, shall throw the first rod" Compressions 9.5:1

Yup. My only signed helmets are Colin and Valentino. I’ve met all of the above, and so many more but it’s not like it used to be at all now. Key moments for me was meeting Valentino, Ago, Wayne, partying with Kevin Schwantz and getting to meet Marco Simoncelli a few months before he passed, still bothers me. I don’t think a week goes by where I don’t think about Sic. Damn shame. I don’t know if you have ever seen Ingrid, Loris’s wife. Damn she is one specimen.....out of this world. Loris knew who I was because every year I’d stop Ingrid and ask for a photo. He laughed about it with me because he knew I was just having fun. I think one year at Laguna I got photos with her Fri, Sat, and Sunday King Kenny is just as intimidating in person as he is on TV. Wayne and Kevin are nicest guys you’d ever meet in the industry. And Casey was usually a jerk. He’d walk right by children with his gear on, t-shirt, hat, whatever. One year I was in the motor home area by the HRC office. I asked one of the crew if I could get a photo with Adriana because I knew Casey wouldn’t have any of it and I only wanted a photo with her anyway. They must have been trained because it was an angry no. I bet they would have flipped us off if they thought they could get away with it. She is better than anything else he ever won. I was friends with Colin Snr and the Edwards clan for many years (junior can drink the shit out of Some beer) And a massive Edwards fan, especially with HRC on the VTR1000SP1/2, even owned the second gen. Snr would hook up a few of us with rider passes every year as part of Jnr’s crew. Was some great years at Laguna and COTA. I saw many things I was not supposed to see around the motor homes and the RedBull parties. It’s all super serious now, and a bit like F1. Sundays they used to all go to the RedBull party and everyone would be there not giving a F, and partying, sans Valentino. He’d never show. The great years to go were 2005 when GP came back through 2011. Now, at COTA, it’s just not the same. Atmosphere just sucks there compared to Monterey. Monterey was the favorite spot on the calendar for most all the riders. I think my crew went, from 2000 until 2011. We almost had keys to the place. I miss it but I’m not young anymore and wouldn’t repeat some of the shit we pulled. We crashed a lot of stuff with hook ups. I’ve ridden Laguna and the 1 a few times. The 1 scared me more. Down to Big Sur, the cliffs are high, and when it’s light rain and fog, your ass hole puckers up big time. I can remember days riding a close friends VFR750, that was hand dialed, all tricked out, and not being able to see more than 20 or 30 feet in front of me. Back in the WSBK days of 2000-2002, you could go to the press meetings with the riders and journalists during the Q and A. They’d have it in Monterey at one of the hotels. I’d go ever year. Bayliss, Edwards, name it would show up. Troy Corser one year, walked in with 2 girls, one on each arm, both looked like Playboy models. Some were discrete about this, Corser would do it in front of the entire press corps. Seen Brad Pitt (he had a crew of sheriffs and they asked if they could bump us on a helo flight out of the track), Cruise, Pam Anderson, Keanu, David Alen Grier, so many at Laguna. I even got busted by Vanessa Marcil one year, I think 2005 or 2006. She was fit as a fiddle and standing in front of me wearing skin tight white pants. I was staring at her rear when she turned her head, busted me, and smiled real big. Those were the days. When Colin retired, my hook ups left. I did do the COTA/Riders for Health track day with Mamola about 6 years ago. We go to COTA these days, I don’t even get a Paddock Pass, because it’s just not the same. When Vale hangs them up I don’t have a rider. That was Sic. Man I remember when Senior would call us and let us know when Colin was going to be at Cresson. He’d come every year. Last time I was there was 2002. Someone had a RC and the guy let Colin lead a parade lap on it. And I remember when we got a call about Valentino getting Colin on the factory Yamaha team. My trip down memory lane..... I’m just hoping Vale can win a few before he walks. I’m so sick of Marc I’ll root for anyone to beat him. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Yeah, I know what you mean. I don't have a rider now either. Eddie Lawson, Fast Freddy, Schwantz, Rainey...those were the days. Now it's all just more managed. But ah well, getting old I guess. ___________________ "He who is without oil, shall throw the first rod" Compressions 9.5:1

Your bike looks great. Schwantz and Rainey are my favorites. You should get a GSXR1100 and paint it in Pepsi or Lucky Strike.

I’m in the opposite boat. Having gotten into MotoGP around 2013 when I bought my first motorcycle and being a Suzuki fan I have a few riders they recruited over the past few years that I pull for. Their strategy of recruiting young talent and their luck at picking rookies that can win races has made it an exciting sport for me to get into. I even root for the lad who left for Yamaha to ride alongside his hero. There are four riders I currently root for: Rins, Mir, Maverick (unless he’s battling the previously mentioned riders) and lastly anyone who beats Mark Marquez makes me happy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Ughhhh, Marquez and my most hated rider Pedrobot. Rins is good, but I just haven't found that big as Texas personality..... ___________________ "He who is without oil, shall throw the first rod" Compressions 9.5:1

Everyone, I still have all the factory stuff. The Moto GP stuff is the chinese ABS injection molded fairings from fleaBay, and bought a spare tank. There wasn't much fitment issues with the chinese crap except in a few places, that was easy enough to deal with. So I have two full set of fairings and tanks. Even bought a second custom tailight for the extra tail section. So anytime I want I can go Moto GP or Stock. I knew the stock ones can never be replaced but the GP replica I can fix or replace anytime!
