Pottsville is 20-miles north of me - Yuengling Lager is a standard here.
Got my Oktoberfest ----try the Golden Pilsner - you wont be disappointed.

When it gets cooler I'll pick up some Porter too..........

I got my first six pack of Sam Adams Octoberfest probably two weeks ago. Odds are it will not be available when it gets to October. They (meaning everything for every holiday) seems to start earlier and earlier every year.

It's usually Oktober in my fridge from September until March. Always get Sam Adams, some German Marzen style, and several different craft breweries offerings.

I have family in Michiana (aka along Michigan and Indiana state line), and I've drank it there. They had it there before we had it in Houston.

I just checked a map on Yuengling's site and it's in Ohio and Indiana right along the Michigan state line. I might've been a half mile into Indiana.

I used to drink a lot of Yuengling years ago,
they did a beer called Chesterfield Ale, (or similar) that was damn tasty, but have not seen it here in Central VA in many many years

I really like the Oktoberfest Marzens…currently have Sam Adams, Hacker Pschorr, Paulaner, and Spaten in the fridge. Need to make the annual Costco in-store trip to see wha they brought in.

Yep. That stuff's gooood! I've drunk nothing but Yuengling lager for over 30 years, and last fall was the first time I tried their Octoberfest.

My wife & I have toured the factory in Pottsville a couple times. It's a pretty neat old place.

Yuengling Black & Tan for the win Wink

Back in the day we used to call Yuengling "Vitamin Y" Big Grin

Used to be able to go into a bar or restaurant anywhere in PA and just say "I'll have a lager" and they knew you wanted a Yuengling.

Nice Choice!

I really love Yuengling Oktoberfest, Sam Adams Oktoberfest, and Sly Fox Oktoberfest.

Best regards,

While Octoberfest Marzens and Festbiers are some of my favorite beers, this will be my first year without an Octoberfest beer stockpile. I'll probably still pick up a 6 pack or two, though.

Combination of tighter finances, and significantly decreased beer intake.

Ya'll enjoy!

Lord Chesterfield Ale

The closest thing they've ever come to a pale ale

quote:

One of our heritage beers, Yuengling Lord Chesterfield Ale has as much rich heritage as it does flavor and appeal. Crafted in a unique two-stage European brewing style for enhanced bitterness, it utilizes both conventional kettle hopping and dry hopping after fermentation resulting in a dry sharp finish. Its distinct robust flavor is derived from a delicate combination of sweet maltiness and lingering herbal bitterness.

You can get it just across the border in Ohio. Depending on where in SE Michigan you are, it could be worth it.

I frequently visit relatives in the greater Toledo area so I am in luck.

The power of suggestion; I picked up a pack of Yeungling's Oktoberfest this morning. But first, I have to finish the Paulaner bought earlier. Holding off on bratwursts until the official start of Oktoberfest though.

that's it,

I'll be making a trip to a couple local beer\wine shops later this month, and will pick up some if they have it,

and , to stay on topic, some Spaten and HB Octoberfest,

as well as a good local one by Legends Brewery
