From start to finish.

I am now sitting at home, changing bandages hourly, and hurting, while trying not to bleed over my own couch.... and I missed all the REAL bullshit today.

I question my life decisions....

How does that work then? Do you get light duty for a day or two? Or you just walk it off and try not to stain your uniform?

This was the start of the day... before I even got in...

The end was getting sent home 2 hours early, bleeding from my elbow and knee after going good to a bar fight and fighting with the suspect....


And 4 hours later, still changing bandages each hour, cause they won't stop bleeding.


Then all the bullshit in between.

The suspects get to go to the hospital.... I just get to deal.

Change your ripped pants, don't get blood on your last clean shirt (cause your others are at the cleaners and won't be ready til Wed.)

My neighbor, who grew up in Germany, used white sugar on scrapes to get the blood to clot. It seemed to work for her.

Sounds like you need new cleaners. Granted I only dry clean once my creases start to fade a bit but they get them back the next day for $4.95.

This place does all three for that price....

But I am more grateful all my friends escaped out shit day unscathed..... this could have gone soooo much worse.

Hmmm, have not gotten any email, but also have not gotten anything 6 pm... that is odd. Seems my email is down. Will reply as soon as I fix the probelm. (I don't go more than an hour without at least a junk email... there must be some dark Internet forces at work)

Why can't you go to hospital? If it's been bleeding for that long, you might have an issue. Hospitals see a lot of BS cases, but I don't think you are one of them. Just don't sit next to the suspect, he might want round 2.

I'm glad to hear that you weren't badly hurt and I hope the rest of your crew is ok. It sounds like a shift from hell or a no kidding "Bad day".

I'm glad to hear that you are (basically) okay, and that your friends were not harmed. Reading that article makes me question the "suicide mission" since he was found to be wearing a vest. Maybe he was suicidal, but still...as you said, it could have been much worse.

I hope you get that bleeding under control. Perhaps you need a few stitches? Elbows and knees do tend to get a lot of movement, so not the most pleasant place to get scraped up. Good luck with that.

but no... I'm fine. I've had worse, and will probably get worse in the future.

I can take it, and have taken it, and will take it. And that is one of hte reasons I am good at what i do... It will hurt for a day or two, but I'll deal.

My point in this post, and i may not have conveyed it well, it to say what a good job my peers did, and be thankful they all came out unscathed.

A few deep scrapes, while they suck, is no comparison to a huge gunfight against an opponent armed with 3 guns and AR 500 body armor...

A few of them, I've helped instruct in shooting as an assistant instructor, and a peer on the streets. They did an EXCELLENT job and while sadly it couldn't be ended with no loss of life, it was ended with no good guys being hurt.

For that I am thankful.

There is no winner here.

The "suspect" was a vet... No official diagnosis other than my own speculation, but I can't see any other outcome other than mental illness and PTSD.

As usual, there are no "winners." Just shitty situations.

I"m glad all my friends made it out ok. I'm glad no innocent people who got placed in harm's way by the suspect were hurt as well. But there is no "celebration" here...

This guy was sick, and it is absolute shit he made the terrible choices he did, and forced the outcome that happened.

One more hour and I'll try anything... I've already tried H2O2, Bactine, and soap/water.... It sucked, each time.

BTW do you take blood thinners?
I take Xarelto and even minor cat scratch take hours to clot.
