Earlier this week, I shot my new Fuse. And first of next week I will break in my new Ruger RXM. But... My range is outdoor so the weather can keep me off it. I try to get out at least twice a month. And for dry fire I have a SIRT trainer.

Just shot today, tested out the Henry Homesteader’, 9mm. I shot two types of reloads, then some factory ammo.

One thing of note, the sights are nearly right on, fresh out of the box.

I’m working the bugs out of a 6.5 creedmoor build. As some may know, the AR-10 platform is not standardized like the AR-15. Parts do not always just swap in. I took it out yesterday to run some ammo through it. Solved the one problem. Found two more. Good grief.

Built two rifles for a couple of youth shooting novices in August. They were gifts with an understanding that one day they would each introduce other to the culture. I went to the range with them and their parents three times between the presentation day and the first week of November. Great times.

You could say I’m still a shooter. But my purpose for doing so has evolved. With my boys all grown, I get great satisfaction now from introducing the next generations of shooters to the world of firearms, ammunition and ballistics.

I have a few lever guns. Right now my two favorites are a Winchester 94AE in .357 mag and the other is a Marlin/Ruger 1894 in .44 mag. I work up different reloads for them and shoot them quite often. My range is my back yard.

I ran a hundred or so a week ago and have around 2500-3000 rounds through various guns this year along with an average of 20 airgun shots per day for the past few years since I’ve been tracking it.

That's pretty impressive. Both of them.

Two or three times a month, some times more in the warmer months. Twice a month in the cold weather. My membership is for outdoors range and it is my preference.

I shoot indoors at a different range hourly in the winter. It gets a little expensive.

I bought my first motorcycle in 2019 so I'm on the motorcycle when there is nice weather and I have a few hours. That time used to go to shooting my firearms.

Now, I pretty much only shoot at an indoor range during crummy weather.

This year I've had 60 hours of shotgun training and another 60 of transitioning and low light shooting. I don't keep an exact count of rounds shot, but between that training and my weekly range trips I estimate about 4k for the year. My club has an indoor range that's open until 11 pm. I like to go on Sundays around 8 pm and usually have the place to myself.

I shoot once a week, and if my math is correct, I expend about 7000 rounds a year.

My wife and I are weekly shooters but taking care of her mom kept us away from shooting for the past few months.

Every Sunday. I'm limited to .22LR rifles since my right shoulder is toast.

Everything I have shot was between August 20th and October 15th.

~1200 rounds of 9mm through the new 365 Legion.
~600 rounds of 5.56 through the Mossberg MMR.
~400 rounds of .22 through the Savage MKII.

This is the first year I have had the time to go out on a regular basis. Then the weather turned cold and I haven’t been out since. Maybe in March when it warms up again.

I used to shoot a lot more, but the local ranges have become incredibly lame. Limited hours, RSOs watching every move, paper targets from fixed firing positions only, no drawing from holsters, etc. Unless you are practicing for bullseye competition or sighting in a deer rifle, what's the point?

Three times a week, usually. Twice a week minimum.

50m range up to .75cal/12g lead only - up to 150 fps.

100m range anything up up 7500 Joules M/E and 3500 fps for calibres up to the high-stepping twenty-twos and 3000 fps for anything else. Downloaded .338LM or heavier bullets are tolerated, but unliked. A few .300 Win Mags and the occasional large-bore European - 9.3x74 et al. And, of course, the occasional double rifle - usually .375 H&H of .450 NE or BPE.

25m range up to 12g - practical shotgun - pistol calibres up to whatever you have and 1500 fps.

For me in the northern Rockies this time of year, my shooting ability is more weather dependent than anything else. Usually reload in winter, shoot in the summer.

Within the last week but I really don’t shoot THAT often. Whenever I’m at my moms (near the farm where I hunt) I always toss a few guns in the truck just in case I have time. I popped some 22 rounds out of the SL-22 this past week. But I rarely go to the pistol or rifle range anymore. I shoot skeet and clays a few times a year, and I bird hunt 3 or 4 times a year. I sight in my rifles and I deer hunt with them.
