Even though he said what we all are thinking, I feel it was all staged. These programs having been losing ratings for years. If he went rogue do you think they would have switched camera views to see the reaction of all the pompous elites.

That was not staged.

Just watched the video. Never been a Gervais fan, but I did find that incredibly refreshing.

I don't think it was staged, it is very likely that Rickey will be black listed in Hollywood now too. Unfortunately I also think that he probably single handedly increased the viewership and interest in an award show that was circling the toilet. And even so, he will be treated as a pariah.

If these Hollywood stuffed shirts were authentically what they claim to be, he’d not suffer one bit from this.
