you wanna list? starting 60 years ago? got about 150 of em, all important in one way or another.... doubt there's any general interest. 2 that got away despite bringing 'em home, my Dad didn't see the value in opportunity. I was still too young to have my name on a title, but there was an actual original 53 Corvette, a 49 Jag XK 150S drop head coupem and a couple early 356B Cabriolet Porches that would have drained every penny from my bank account I'm sure. **************~~~~~~~~~~ "I've been on this rock too long to bother with these liars any more." ~SIGforum advisor~ "When the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change, then change will come."~~sigmonkey

First to current: 1977 Chevy Caprice Classic coupe. The doors were about 8 feet long and weighed nearly 2300 lbs each. 1988 VW Jetta GLI 16v. My first new car. Loved the ever lovin' crap outta that car. 1991 Jeep Cherokee Sport (new). Overall no issues, but, this was before they did a better job of building Jeeps. 1998 Jeep Wrangler (new). Always wanted a Wrangler, the itch was scratched. 2001 Audi S4 (new). My first (and probably last) Euro performance car. Loved the car, but, starting in 2007 (in the words of the service advisor) I was starting to buy it all over again. I did keep it for 10 years, though. 2010 Hyundai Tucson (new). After driving the S4 for 10 years, the Hyundai was something to get used to. However, it was great on gas and in seven years of ownership it never once gave me any problems. 2017 GMC Canyon (new). I am old and done with my sexy car desires, so, I got a pick-up truck. __________________________ "just look at the flowers..."

Sone of you guys are hell on cars! I'm not going to count my wife's vehicles or the family car...just the ones that were "mine". 1990 Chevy Van 20 Tiara Conversion. Bought it from my FIL-to-be in 2004 for $1. The thing was a rustbucket and had huge holes in it, but it had a sweet 350 in it and a hole in the exhaust, so it sounded awesome. 1994 Chevy regular cab long bed C1500 work truck with a 4.3L V6. In late 2005 the van was disintegrating, and I needed something else. Found a good deal on this truck from some sleazy used car dealer in Cleveland, OH..which was about 6 hours away. It was a fantastic truck and my brother drove it for three years after I got rid of it. 2001 Chevy 2500HD 4x2 extended cab long bed with a 6.0L V8. Bought this one in 2010 after I hit a deer with the '94 and destroyed the front clip. I ended up fixing the '94 and selling it to my brother. The '01 has vinyl floors and seats, window cranks, manual locks, A/C, and an AM/FM radio. The timing wasn't bad, either, because about a week after I bought it we found out my wife was pregnant with our daughter, so with four of us we'd no longer fit in the regular cab '94. 9 years later and it's still going strong with well over 200K on the clock. I plan to drive it until it dies.

Not that extensive... I tend to buy used and run the life out of them... my wife buys new and holds on as well. 1978 Pontiac Phoenix (Pontiac's version of the Nova) - Had the Canadian Built 305, we went through it in shop class, built it over and I ended up buying a telephone pole with it after hitting some black ice one night. 1984 Dodge Aries 1984 1/2 Mustang Convertible 1996 Mercury Sable 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2004 Hyundai Elantra - New 2002 Dodge Stratus 2006 Nissan Pathfinder 2017 Ford Escape - New I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

1984 Datsun (yes, Datsun) 210, pass-down from my parents, was on last-legs already 1986 Honda Civic hatchback (pass-down), kept through college and some grad school as well as Field Artillery Officers Basic Course in OK; died Spring 1992 returning from VA Tech from a horrible break-up with ex-fiancé (how fitting) 1993 Dodge Colt (first car I purchased on my own), decent, sold it after I got married and took my wife's newer car... 1994 Nissan Altima, drove this from 1999 to 2004 2003 Saab 93 hatchback, pre-owned, I lusted for this car for years and got mine early 2004, extended warranty expired Spring 2007 and I had 4K of repairs within the next year, Saab is Swedish for "wait until the warranty is gone and then bend over..." traded that lemon in 2008 for 2009 Mazda 3. Solid car, hatchback, sunroof, leather interior, served me well through Summer 2018 when I gave it to my son who was headed back to VA Tech for college; still in use, though just had some semi-costly repairs. 2017 Subaru Cross-Trek. Basically a hatchback on steroids. Full tricked-out, maximum extended warranty, sweet...

This list starts in 1999 1983 Volvo DL - tank of a car. Only issue it had was an issue with the speedometer cable. It would whine like a banshee when the car got above 70. This was my first ride in college so it stayed in the city mostly. Was also the first car I ever worked on after somebody went through the apartment parking lot breaking windows. 1987 VW Jetta GLI - Total POS, but I loved it. Can't for the life of me remember how I managed to pull $1600 together to buy it as a college student. It had a mystery leak and the carpet would get soaked every time it rained, the alternator wasn't aligned properly and would go through a belt about every 2 months, the AC compressor was locked up, and the car might hit 80 going down a long hill. Fun fact: This car was the start of me having full time debt when the clutch went out and I didn't have any where close to the money available to pay for the repair. 1989 Acura Legend - first car my wife and I bought together. First car that had leather seats, thought we were moving on up. 1994 Mitsubishi Montero LS - Loved this car, still miss it. Sold it because I needed something with a higher towing capacity. 1996 Nissan Maxima , wife tried her hand at realty, and needed a "respectable" car. 1999 Volvo C70 - nice car, looked sporty, but wasn't. Had the world's largest turning radius. 2000 Dodge Durango SLT w/ the 5.9 - Good car, got the job done. 1999 Nissan Pathfinder - purchased from my parents with a pretty hefty family discount. It was a great car right up until a lady pulled out in front of it on a 55 mph road. 2003 Mercedes E500 - loved this car. planned on having it for a long time, babied the crap out of it and made sure all the needed TLC was provided. A deer had other plans. 2005 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.7 hemi - about 200k on it, it pulls the boat and hauls trash to the dump without comfort or fanfare. Probably will replace this sometime in the next 2-3 years. 2006 Mercedes E350 - bought as a replacement for the E500. a nice car but can't stop comparing it to the old one, which was much better. my current daily driver 2010 Mercedes ML350 - wife's current daily driver. She loves it, I love that has the same engine as my e350, so maintenance is super easy. I'm not really a fan of the ride of this vehicle. It feels like the wrong balance of sporty and comfortable. ____________________ I Like Guns and stuff
