Wife and I made our way to SC to hunt at her grandfathers property. Our first evening out, she went with him to a stand and I sat in one myself.

I heard her shoot about 200 or so yards behind me (facing north, I was facing South) and a little while later she came rolling past me in the cart with an 8 point in the back. She had an 80 yard shot with the new Savage 30-06 I got her for her birthday last week.

They asked if I wanted to come down or wait and I had an hour of daylight left so I stayed. About the time I was getting ready to get out of the stand, having unloaded my 30-30, and as I stand up to leave, a buck comes out behind me and into the field in front of me. So I plugged him with my Glock 40 at roughly 35 yards. Big Grin

When did you post this photo on FaceBook or whatever before here?

There was a leftist meme going around touting how creepy it is.

Someone snagged your photo.

Whew! For a minute there, I was concerned that this was going to be an adult-rated post.

The little guy doesn’t look to happy about the whole thing.

Careful, I don't think you can legally hunt with a 40cal pistol.
Maybe you can in SC idk.
I'd hate for fb azzhats too cause you trouble.

Congrats to you both. I'm sure it's exciting to have both got a deer in the same day together.

A Glock 40 is 10mm with a 6” barrel. It’s a thumper.

Yup, Zac has let us follow along in the building of his 40. I have one similar to his and they are sweet! The brake seems to be gone. Last update it looked like this:

SC DNR used to have nit picky rules about calibers and lengths and mag size and all kinds of random crap.. just like all the rest.
But we got that stupid cleaned up a few years ago with a state law. Now a desk jockey in columbia that hasn't been in the field in 40 years no longer knows more about what you carry than you do.
