Good ol' Minnesota. When I was at Fed Ex there was a period of time where some guys were getting Fed Ex uniforms or pieces of. They didn't do home invasions they went to the Mall of America and did the daily pick ups at all the jewelry stores. They must have watched the regular Fed Ex guy and what times he would get to the stores. Then they would show up ten minutes before the regular courier. So after that the jewelry stores would have to check our ID and we had to inventory all of our uniform pieces. If we ordered anything new we had to turn in what we were replacing. I wonder why those thugs chose that house. Those people didn't look like they were going to have a substantial amount of money or property to steal. You would think they would be in a more affluent neighborhood. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

That is horrific. Wonder how long it took the cops to get there from the time 911 was called? Wonder also if there was a reason they were targeted (drug related). Of just innocent victims? Those three are the worst of the worst. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

From LEO's that I know, they say almost all home invasions are not random events, they are planned and the targets are suspected to have drugs, guns and cash. Sometimes they make a mistake and hit the house next door or across the street. I'm not saying that this family was involved in that sort of thing, but to think that the average person would be a target of this type of attack is a bit of a stretch. The risk is just too high to randomly attack houses posing as a UPS guy unless you suspect there's awful lot to gain. All three of these suspects deserve to be fed feet first through a wood chipper. ---------------------------------- "These things you say we will have, we already have." "That's true. "Most" UPS/FEDEX deliverymen won't ring your doorbell to hand you a package (there may be a few exceptions). They usually drop it at your door, take a photo of it, and leave. My first instinct would be to look for their truck. _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. Those dudes knew money was there. They were looking for something very specific. The fact that those people had security cameras all over their place, especially inside, is another red flag. Safe bet the victims were running dope and these guys were ripping them off. Doesn't make it any better, and they all need to spend the rest of their (hopefully short) lives locked up, but this is criminal on criminal crime. The likelihood of experiencing something like this if you're not involved in illegal activities yourself is significantly lower. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

I was pretty confident that was the case. Thanks SM. Being in that business is very risky. Doing it with very small children is inexcusable. Thank God those monsters did not murder them. I am still curious about the 911 call and response time. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

Their lawyer will probably appeal and get them less time as someone will say it's not fair that they were only robbing to provide for their families. Scumbags like these need to be punished and our jails ain't doing it or our "justice system".

Yeah most likely about drugs and money. The cop even said they had a camera on the pole outside. Still surprised the thugs would bother with the whole UPS bit rather than just force their way into the house. Plus when they didn't get an answer at the door they seemed content to leave and move on to the next place. What a simple twist of fate the son came outside and brought them up to the house. That's a damn shame they did that to those children. As for the perps, I'm hopeful the other two get the same life with parole, it should be death, but it's the second best outcome. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

I think 2 big dogs would have helped, the one seemed a little concerned.

Yep. If I don't see the truck out front, I don't go get it. I have to sign for a bunch of things because I'm an FFL. Regular UPS guy knows me and will text my phone to make sure I'm awake. Not minority enough!

Truck in front or not, if I’m not expecting delivery, that front door remains closed. If I’m not expecting anyone, it stays closed. Q

I agree but I’ve noticed, around this time of the season that the various delivery drivers are sometimes using their personal vehicles. This is particularly true with Amazon drivers. ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

I worked w/ a guy that did part time UPS and he did sometimes use his own car. And I had an Amazon deliver from a young lady in her personal car w/ her dog in it too.

Makes no matter if the deceased was a drug dealer or not. The three of them need to be beaten to death.
